If I know that annihilation is better because of no backfire, why did I use this? Obviously because it’s a lot lighter. Backfire isn’t always bad.

In general, anni is bad cuz high weight and mediocre damage, it is outdated, disintegration on the other hand, sure it deals a bit of backfire, but it's light and therefore better on many builds. Also, it seems obvious you do not know how this game works, so I'd recommend first getting some experience, before attempting to tell others, which are clearly more experienced, what to do.
