furry_hunter_420 reacted to SawzAll in Fortune Box Research Complete!
BLUF: Me and my clan are done researching fortune box rates.  It seems fortune boxes have a 66% chance of getting a rare item (per item in the box) and on average you get two items.  Chance of common: 8%, Legendary 3%, epic 23%.
LONG STORY: My clan and I ran fortune boxes and took screenshots to see if we could deduce the rates of fortune boxes.  Keep in mind, the majority of these came from farming 1v1 Campaign Big Boy for fortune boxes.

    DISCUSSION:
We ran a total of 42 boxes.  I only accepted screenshots as part of the data collection.  In statistics, 40 is the bare minimum data points you need in order to draw conclusions, so I went with what we had (42) when we went over 40.  If someone wants to run another test like this, be my guest: we can combine the data.  (But don't just screenshot fortune boxes and reply here: run your own study please.)
There are a few minor limitations to this study:
It is possible that campaign versus shop fortune boxes have different rates, but we don't have any evidence of this yet.  We'd need 40 data points of shop fortune boxes and 40 data points of campaign fortune boxes to be able to run another test on their rates to see if they're significantly different. It is possible the game has hidden mechanisms that change the rates based on the difficulty of the campaign level and/or your campaign level.  I have no evidence that this is true, but I don't have enough data points to know if it's false either. Forty data points is a start, but if we have 100 we can post possibly more trustworthy stats. We did not take into account whether the items you get from the fortune box are worth having or not, and we only saw one premium item (a monkey torso) this time.  Whether an item is useful or not is subjective to the person, so we didn't try to test that out.      Please, if you have any questions, contact me.  I did not attach all the screenshots of fortune boxes here, but they are available upon request.
By the way, I plan on continuing this to get to 100 fortune boxes.  Me and my clan will do it.  Please don't reply to this thread to post screenshots.

Another silly idea! How about a 10x speed button for campaign? I had to change from mad boy farming to bad boy because it took so long even with the 2x speed.

Maybe you get it at a certain level, after you clear a zone on insane or even have to watch an add to use it?

furry_hunter_420 reacted to Bluz in Desolation rework proposal - by LG
I like the sound of that! I may come out a bit biased since I myself run a Dual Desolation build, but these proposed values do make sense even to the perspective of someone who has never touched a Desolation.
I did the maths, and the final damage value for our hypothetical buffed Desolation would be around 298-440 (please do correct me if there are miscalculations). If anybody here thinks that it may be a bit too much as its damage is very similar to the damage output of a Spartan Carnage (286-490), hear this out: the Desolation weighs 15 kg more than a Spartan, while also having a more complex range, and twice the heat generation.
Either way, I do honestly think that we should up its weight a bit in addition to the heat generation cost increase. Probably increase it from 66 kg to 68 kg (or even up to 70 kg) so it can at least have a balancing factor.
Whatever path would be taken, I'm sure people would like to see one of the most reliable weapons that an F2P player could run receive some love. Would also motivate people more to try out new builds with energy free heat mechs, and not just Burning Showers everywhere. 😉

Subject of the day is my beloved desolation.
Desolation is the only epic tier energy free heat weapon. Dual desolation builds are very accessible and can accomodate variants going from very f2p to hard p2w. Very evolutive.
Thid used to be the bread and butter of any access damage oriented heat player.
We see less and less claws (range denial of those was one of the approaches to properly use desolation), more and more high HP and resistances, desolation became somehow obsolete.
I propose a rework of this weapon.
    - add 15% damage
    - add 20% heat generation
Feel free to participate to the pole and to leave some comments.
    Thanks, LG 👍

The main reason I am reviving this idea is because it would help bring a LOT more commitment from new players and could quite possibly keep people from leaving.
    I am introducing... Blueprints!
on top of needing 15M gold, you will also need to get blueprints.
    But, here's why it's better:
if you use a blueprint, then there is a 5M gold reduction.
for new players, it will be a lot more worth it to acquire 9 blueprint pieces than to farm 5 million gold.
I know from experience, it takes around a full day to get a million gold if you really go at it.
Here are the tasks you must complete to get the 9 blueprints.
    9 tasks= 9 pieces
    Tasks:
Upgrade using 100 items in one day.
Win 15 Arena Battles in one day.
Collect 1 million gold in one day.
    Transform 5 items.
Open 50 item boxes. [Counting MIX boxes]
Use any one item 5 times in a match.
defeat someone with more than -50 HP upon death
    finish all quests in 10 minutes or less {timer}
spend 1,000,000 gold in 1 minute or less
These are all quests that will randomly be chosen in the Fusion Center for you to do.
For the timed ones, there would be a timer for you to activate.
Now people would be able to get the items they need, and higher level/rank players would have incentive to max out useless items.
There are 3 types of blueprint ratings:
    Hand-Drawn [Mediocre]
    Detailed [Decent]
    These different blueprints are

L-M's that do not have C-E counterparts would not be craftable. As there is nothing similar to them at lower level
"You can't make pistol into a sniper"
When you start the crafting process, it will take up to a week depending on the craftability score.
This is determined by the combination of Hand-Drawn/Detailed blueprints that you have.
    Detailed are 10 points.
    H-D are 5 points.
    80-90P:1 day
    75-60P: 2-3 days
    55-40P: 4-5 days
    35 or less: 7 days

@SawzAll , I see you’re still on the campaign for a 2-shot Spartan Carnage. Let’s have a match on Killin’s Workshop to test out your theory.
Your dual Spartan Carnage reduced to 2 shots and whatever secondary weapons you choose vs. my dual Night Eagles and Nightfalls.
Pick a time, so we can arrange a time we both can accommodate.
