SawzAll got a reaction from MasterChief in Launching Hammer Weapon
Hmm.
So, like is it something like in TriGun where the person throws a fist/boomerang but there's a chain attached that he can use to reel the weapon back in after throwing it?

SawzAll got a reaction from S_k in EMP slight buff: wt to 50, dmg to 41-63, e. dmg to 404 like heat bomb
But generally that is because energy deals with a larger handicap: you get free regen every turn or so.
Which I support by pointing out that if you go to CleverName's META thread, and then copy the configs into WU and fight them against each other, heat wins against energy 90% of the time (if you pilot both mechs, etc.).
And I also support by pointing out that Alexander has already said the next buff round will be mainly energy because energy is weak.
And I think part of that is because single use weapons like EMP are horrible inefficient (based on weight) versus heat and physical.
Do you agree that energy as a whole is weak?

(OFFTOPIC) Here's the closes thing I can get to a fair shot. Energy moved first. Heat is using terror cry to push back in 2-4, so heat is actually doing less heat damage than energy (with last words). All weapons are intended to damage capacity.
You're right, but with all due respect, the problem isn't that heat and energy aren't the same. The problem, I think, is that people keep forgetting that they are different in a way that puts energy at a much higher disadvantage. You get regen every turn without wasting turns. Not so with heat. Hence with energy not only do you fight to drain them, you fight to keep them drained, while they are kicking and charging and grappling you, (EDIT and also using their energy-free weapons on you). With heat, if you shut them down, they don't move for a turn.
If anything, EMP should be more OP than Heat Bomb, but again, I went with equality and symmetry because I felt that was the more conservative thing to do.
EDIT: again, I appreciate it, and I'm not upset or anything. I like useful replies, and your reply was great. I'm just saying I don't agree, that's all.

I disagree to a point. I know it's just an opinion, so I'm only replying to see if maybe (when I explain my view) you further explain yours. Or maybe you were joking and I'm "sarcasm impaired" 🙂
To me, if the game lets you do it (i.e. configure counters), it's usually fair. If it's not something the game lets you do (hack), or if it is poor sportsmanship (smurfing), it's not fair.
What do you think?
By the way, I saw that party crasher / piercing fox / recoiler combo and I thought it was cool 🙂

Only used the unreliable protector to upgrade because I already have one.

SawzAll got a reaction from MasterChief in FREE?
No, he gave us a free thing in the game. There's got to be at least one person who got it in their phone app.
No, but your attitude does. Seriously, it's like the more Alex does for us, the more toxic you become.

SawzAll got a reaction from OKI DOKI in Ask SawzAll Anything
Well it's just because I make sure I give myself birthday and Christmas money. First, because budget. But second, because I'll forget to be kind to myself.
This is a difficult question to answer. And there are many opinions on it. The best way I can put it is, it depends.
First, evaluate the stats. If drone A average damage + (10 x resistance drain) - backfire > drone B then use drone A.
Second, evaluate the goal of your build. My heat damage mech on my alt uses backstabbing protector instead of Nemo. Also, for my "CleverJumper" physical build, selfish protector is better than Tonto because sometimes I end up in range 1.
Third, use your experience. In my arena rank 6-8 experience, for energy, Unreliable Protector is better Torment.
Fourth, think of where you're using it. For campaigns, I never recommend backfire drones, but they work in the arena, and might work in raid.
If you still don't know when to use a backfire drone, my opinion is only when you have one of the top torsos (vests, monkeys, EFA, Nightmare) and the torso is max mythical at least. And only until you've at least gotten the reduction of backfire arena perk to at least level 5 out of 10.
My other general drone experience:
1) I don't recommend range-limited drones because people tend to range bully them too easily.
2) Limited use drones (Face Shocker, Heatpoint, etc.) are only worth it when they can do more damage / heat / energy drain in 3 turns than the other drones you already have in 4 turns. I've seen Face Shocker used by people in the top ranks, so it just depends on build and context.

SawzAll reacted to CDR_Xavier in Half Plate
I thought I was the first that came up with the "lightweight plating" idea.
It'd be mainly useful for when you have some spare weight on your mech (and happened to have extra slots).
20 kg. Offers exactly half the punch of a plat-plate. E-M.
Because the hp/slot is low, we wont worry about spamming plate. E-M for the fact that it cost twice the amount of power (and item) to obtain the same amount of hp boost.
It might be popular, or it might not. Just like some of the newer weapons featuring retreats / advances. A "interesting thing in the collection" type of item, perhaps.
I'd say add it. No one cried for a distance shredder or a distance controller.
Yes, offering exactly half the punch of a plat plate might be still too much because how iron plating is half health and same weight.
But what kind of reasonable setup will leave you with 4 slots of accessory and still manage to fill up the weight limit that quick?
What advantage do they bring, compared to iron plate, beside the possibility of having more heavy weapons?
Not much. Try to think that the lightweight plate is absolutely op. It's going to be difficult.

Because I am only P2S. I spend only $20/month on this game (excluding birthday and christmas money, etc.). So cheap paint is better for me right now. Honestly I always thought the shop mechs looked cool even if they aren't the best items.
I don't paint my alt. And I find the random colors effect to be very annoying.
If I ever get to rank 1-5 my heat mech will get painted red again like it used to me.
