Launching Hammer Weapon

Recommended Posts

A New class of Hammer coming to supermechs?

What class this can be?

I come with the idea of a class of launching hammer, no axes be cause i think can be more hard launch a axe than a hammer in real life

First the physical version, next the other two version

Pain Thrower/Legendary

Basically, a little version of the Hammer, only with the chance of this have a chain connected to the mech

Damage:

123 — 259 Physic Damage Level 1

198 — 327 Physic Damage Level 40

1 Movement left or right to the enemy

15 heat damage

15 energy damage

Requirements:

31 heat

112 backfire

2 — 4 Range

Only have 2 uses

Pain Thrower/Mithycal

This versión of the weapon is like the mithical hammer but the chain has spikes, epic? No?

221327 Physic Damage level 1

287 — 498 Physic Damage level 50

292 — 502 Level 1 Divine

30 heat storage damage

30 energy storage damage

Requirements:

42 heat

158 backfire

2 — 4 range

Upgrade to 3 uses

What you think about this idea? Its good? Its bad? A change what you want to do? Tell me in the comments, Thanks for reading

(@SawzAll) am i saying it right

Hmm.

So, like is it something like in TriGun where the person throws a fist/boomerang but there's a chain attached that he can use to reel the weapon back in after throwing it?

Yes, Possibly like this

Ok.  I can't see anything like this not requiring some sort of energy.  And given the current state of energy, I'm very reluctant to vote "yes" for something that is energy-free.  We'll see, I guess.

Ok, so this is how I would visualize it since there weren't any provided visuals of how it'll turn out.....

image.thumb.png.641f4cf0febabdd9802565b912dfce17.png

Obviously, the launcher thing wouldn't look like a modified heatbomb...  and the hammerhead wouldn't look like a flaming grapple + flame hammer...... and the chain wouldn't look like a fishbone...

I honestly think it'll be nice if is retractable for multi-use and stuff....

Not saying it's a bad idea, just saying I really do not see how logically (or even based on meta) this should be energy-free.

I get it, SM isn't the most realistic game, we have energy beams and stuff.

Just saying....

Guns don't use energy in real life, they use a gunpowder explosion to propel them so maybe this would to.

I worked on the F-16.

The Vulcan cannon uses energy and hydraulic power.

Sure, there are some weapons that use no energy.

But I don't see how (if we're trying to think of how it would work in the real world) you can reel the hammer head back in after.

Look, I know SM isn't realistic, so maybe this is the wrong way to think about it.

I don't think, however, that any energy-free weapons should be added, approved, or buffed until energy as a whole is buffed so that it's not horribly weak.

Alex and the balance team are working on fixing this.

I'm not trying to shoot down your ideas.  It seems cool.  I just think it's unrealistic for this weapon to not use energy.

Every new energy-free weapon essentially nerfs energy as a whole.

Take it like this energy weapons have batteries(which makes them heavier) so they can shoot out energy(energy can be taken away by energy) some energy weapons have no energy cost because they make their own energy that's why they generate heat and still weigh more.

This is my reason why this could have no energy cost(its from Sawzall's emp slight buff thread, or  your thread)

I think a Harpoon would make more sense if it were to bring you to the enemy but a hammer would make more sense to push the enemy away by 1

Why not just allow grapple weapons the option to not pull the victim close? Its the same thing. Launch a massive claw which bites in for damage, the pulling is just gravy if you want to close range, but sometimes you don't, or if you are already at range 1..the claw still damages the armor.

and how much damage does a grappling hook do? between 200 and 130, depending on which hook you are using. a hammer would knock you back and then pull you in again.

One Mech to rule them all

so it pulls the person in after pushing them?

yes. just like a hammer and then a grapple would, but in one move.

so it's a cooler heavier 2 use grappling hook.

Also ditching the back fire would be good

It wouldn't make sense because the grapple can't let go while pulling or the person would ram into you.
