None of the choices match how I found SM. I was searching for a new version of MechWarrior and found the beta version of SM in late summer or early fall of 2011. I played it and got hooked. Despite some coding issues, the legacy version of SM had better game mechanics, superior utilities (double hook, double charge, many variations of heat and energy shields from 10%-50%) and the workshop/dashboard was designed better. 9 years in, I still enjoy certain aspects of the game, and look forward to Gato improving the player experience and taking out the trash.

Woah, settle down there buddy. You can clearly see in the screenshot provided that Lazy Falcon won't fire because of insufficient range and lack of HP. The fact that it's 2021 and you don't know about this bug disturbs me.

Sorry Kirubi, but I think this was just a programming oversight by Tacticsoft. This is partially why I don't use any of the backfire scopes, as they're simply too heavy, too costly, and don't provide nearly enough utility over the normal scopes.

I highly agree to Elcent and,at this point, everyone who is not SawzAll.
The moment this forum notifies me of a thread and tells me ''Elcent,X,Y,blah blah... and *SawzAll* replied to this thread*'',I know I'm better off not even bothering to check it out.
Again, thanks for a good thread LG and it's something that hasn't been suggested in way longer than it should have.Let's hope for a buff in the near future. The way this new team seems,it's not a problem of ''if or not'',but rather a question of ''when and how''.I have my hopes for this although, personally, this doesn't change much overall;game experience remains the same because of other aspects that apparently have no way around.

WarrMachine reacted to SawzAll in Windforge rework proposal - by LG
I can understand that, but also I must point out that those who own an item are probably less likely to be objective when they vote "yes" to buff it, because it benefits them.  And people are less likely to go vote for something they don't own not to be buffed because, in their minds, it doesn't concern them because they don't have one.  So this vote is, I wager, highly skewed from the start.
I don't agree with "is realistic given the recent swoop buff."  That was an over-buff.  If something immediately becomes META, rather than an option in META, it's an over-buff.
What I feel is not realistic is that these two, Windforge and Swoop, are already the lightest.  Is it really logical that the lightest drones end up being also the best?  That's just not logical.  See for instance how Tonto has a higher output than Greedy, but also has twice the weight.  Weight should follow damage and drain, in my opinion.  So right now the heat drones are out of whack, in my opinion, because Swoop is OP for how light it is.  (Yes, over-powered.)
Again, I think the problem with energy is much deeper than just one drone.  I love energy: it was the first mech I made, the first mech I purchased in the store, and is still mech #1 in my line-up.  And it's my avatar on here and on discord.
But at the same time I believe what's wrong with energy is more systemic.  Weapons that do less resistance or less energy damage than their heat or physical counterparts.  Lots of weapons that are energy-free.  That's really what's wrong with energy, in my opinion.  Buffing Windforge wouldn't really help as much as a LOT of other things.
If anything, in my opinion, just taking the energy vs heat weapons that look identical side by side (like Ultra Bright versus Dawn Blaze, etc.) and buff energy to match the heat damage (but with energy damage obviously) and the resistance of the weapons back and forth.
Then re-evaluate how many energy-free weapons this game should have.  With all due respect, if heat and physical can make very OP META builds that are completely energy-free, the problem is bigger than just whether Windforge does enough energy drain.  The problem is the game itself has been rigged against energy.
And for instance, for the longest time we didn't have a top 10 arena player that was energy.  We did for a while (dual valiant if I remember correctly) but now we don't, again.  That's a good indication that energy is not equal when physical and heat vastly outnumber it.  Also, when people are tempted to run 3 heat or 3 physical, totally excluding energy.
So whether the masses vote to buff Windforge or not, again, I think that would be a bandaid solution.  Unless we're going to make all the greedy-looking drones (windforge, greedy, and swoop) nearly equal in output to make the game symmetrical.
I think making things symmetrical would be the actual fix for energy.  Now that Swoop has been over-buffed, we basically "owe it" to Greedy and Windforge to make them about equal.  And the cycle repeats itself.
I think I'm going to have to get a day to spend an hour and really think about this problem, as it's way bigger than just Windforge.
So vote however you want.  I'm not against buffing Windforge now that Swoop is over-buffed: it's either reverse the Swoop buff or buff the other two.  Your choice.  But I would appreciate it if people stop asking like simply buffing Windforge is going to reverse a systemic problem in this game that began long before Swoop got buffed.  I don't know how long ago, since I'm not a long-term player, but it's been longer than just the last 5 months I've been playing, that's for sure.

Personally as a heavy windforge user its nice to see this sort of thread to revive it.
The original focus of this weapon to me was heavy energy damage and resistance drain. Therefore I would propose a reasonable energy increase and an increase to the resistance drain.
+61 although it seems high is realistic given the recent swoop buff. Perhaps even higher would not be a bad thing.  Increasing the resistance drain from 5 to 10 would be a nice way of digging away at those that have a large amount of resistance.  Lastly to allow these large buffs I think increasing the energy cost from 31 to 41 ish would be fair. This would only impact energy vs energy battles and would help ensure the yoyo effect is lowered slightly. yoyo effect: a mech that has 69 energy currently can do 721 energy damage. It can make energy very luck/who goes first rather than skill and positioning.

WarrMachine reacted to Elcent in Grind: The Introduction - Item limit
    Hello fellow mech pilots!
As you all know the grind can be a lot in the game and therefore I would like to a range of topics over the next few weeks to create suggestions to improve this. Please keep in mind these suggestions are only my own opinion and not that of Gato Games. Of course if you also have suggestions please feel free to make them below but please keep on topic! Each of these threads will be dedicated to a certain area to ensure the discussion is focussed on a key area. If your point is not to do with the key area then feel free to make your own thread!

    Item Limit
The item limit was added as we moved to reloaded and hit a lot of players hard. It has never been liked and has even ruined some accounts due to having tens of thousands of items.
Now that we have gotten used to the item limit it does have some large negatives:
In a game that certain items are hard to find it forces you to chuck away the ones you do have.  To boost up items you have to do multiple iterations of buying - boosting - even when you have the money to do so. You can only buy 5 slots at a time and the cost increases every time.  Forces pilots to hoard boxes unable to open them due to a full inventory and may not have the time/money to boost.  But it also has some positives:
Loading your inventory takes less time. New players are forced to learn about boosting.
Overall I feel the item limit is just too restrictive when it doesn't need to be. I also expect the server work from a few extra item slots would not be a massive impact to the game. Therefore I would like to recommend the following changes to reduce this impact:
Change inventory increase size from 5 to 25 in terms of slot size. Change inventory cost from to be half the current cost per 5 slots.  Add an inventory limit of X spaces (suggested 1000). Anyone that reaches above this due to the above changes would get premium boxes equating to the amount of reds you would be owed.  Give players an extra 50 slots per 50 levels. (50, 100, 150, 200, 250)

Nope, I'm entitled to my opinion of what I think is his best course of action. He's allowed to act how he wants, but I view that continuing to complain about the same problems with suggesting solutions is a waste of his time.

When, for the past year, I continue to read pages like this from Lake about his distrust and displeasure for the game and it's developers, I wonder if it's best for him to simply walk away. I have come to that conclusion, especially after reading that he is "sick" of how "unbearable" the play experience has become for him (those are his words by the way). Genuinely sounds like he isn't enjoying his time spent playing SuperMechs. There is no shame or dishonor in simply finding a new game lol

Must you always attempt to manipulate my words into things that they are not? Not once did I claim that I was "thinking" for him, I was stating what I think he should do - find a new game. There are thousands of different games he could play offering different adventures with levels of complexity and strategic thinking. How about, instead of constantly going out of your way to contradict what I say on this forum and the old forum, you don't? Note the proverb, live and let live.

Tell Lenka that RAID doesn't have much to do with clans. I think Lenka is mistaken for the Clan War.
    .................
And by the way ... I think this week you could get a perfect score if you have that new heat bomb that hits from ranks 4 to 8. Today is pretty obvious, because the only dmg I took, I would have avoided it if I had that bomb. And I think yesterday (tier 3) too.

I mean it's not a terrible idea, but it would need to be banned in raid and clan wars. If those two requirements are met, I'd be down to see a healing drone comeback.

That being said, it's stats need to be taken very seriously. The healing drone is unlike anything else in the game and needs to be handled with extreme caution, otherwise you'll slip right back into the cancerous legacy diamond shell healing meta. Not fun. Since the point of the healing drone is to provide more utility than the opponent's drone, I suggest the following stats.

    AT DIVINE
    45 kg, +150 heal, +3 en/heat/phys resist, 50 energy cost, 50 heat cost.

WarrMachine got a reaction from AssClown in What advice/tips would you give beginners?
The quickest way to get better at this game, as a beginner, is to focus on obtaining (and efficiently using) as much gold as fast as you possibly can. This starts with the deactivation of base, because all new accounts created have it enabled by default. You'll want to politely ask a developer via PM on these forums, and be sure to include your player ID.

Once you have base disabled, congratulations! You've just gained access to 1x and 5x silver boxes, which can now be purchased for gold. 5x silver boxes are going to be what you should be spending your gold on. They technically have the chance to drop any non premium item in the game (disregarding perks and paint) which will give you the tools required to make a viable mech for completing campaign missions. There are a plethora of players with too much time on their hands (myself included!) willing and able to help you develop a solid well rounded mech.

Progressing through the low ranks of this game really comes down to how hard you're willing to grind the campaign. Using up all your fuel everyday to complete harder and harder missions to reap the additional gold, spending said gold on 5x silver boxes, then using even more gold to fuse silver box contents into your mech's items to make them more powerful. My personal favorite mission to grind is 1v1 Overlords Den Mission 6 on Insane. It takes me about a minute to complete, and offers a great gold reward for the fuel cost. It's not an impractical goal to grind this specific mission all the way until the SuperMechs endgame. Once you've maxed one mech, and finished the 1v1 campaign in it's entirety, it's possible (while grinding efficient missions like OD6) to completely max myth a different item every 5-6 days.

tdlr - disable base, grind od6, buy 5x silver boxes, upgrade go zoom, gg no re.

WarrMachine got a reaction from Ozen in How can the pay gap shrink with these rewards ?
Why are you attempting is deflect/invalidate Miron's point by bringing up his clan? What does that have to with anything? That's called ad hominem.

If we closed the gap between all clan war boxes by making low ranked boxes "better, at least equal" to those of the top clan rewards, all strategy in clan war is essentially out the window. Why would a clan try to win if it means getting a higher ranked (and therefore worse) box? You'd be turning wars into a competition to see who can lose the hardest, and get the lowest ranked box for the better rewards.

A better solution would be to simply increase the rewards for lower ranked boxes, and at most setting the droprates from S boxes equal to that of S+. Then add to S+ an extra (albeit trivial) reward, like a level 1 epic power kit. This benefits the f2p playerbase by increasing their divine relic intake compared to that of the top players. It also provides incentive for the top warring clans to actually try to win, because they get a nice little bonus if they earn the S+ box. Fixing clan war to display the correct damage % for both clans would also help a bit too.
