That would be me looking at Naga v. LPV and forgetting .  Duh.  But I think I'll give them both a shot.  Means more radical reworking of the heat build, but it's worth a go, as I'm a bit stalled just now.   

Now that's interesting - it's the phys mechs that are messing me up at present.

If you can spare the weight definitely use the vests, makes your chances against phys infinitely higher.

it's always just a numbers game. back then, you see that a dual module gives 24 of each cap and 12 of each regen/cooling and think "wow, thats really good". but that's also the time when 700 hp is a lot. 
and then, people will think. what will happen if we can make our mechs last longer..... have more hp.... and more ... everything. thats when the numbers go up. 
before fortresses and combined modules, we'd all think having a lot of hp is crucial to winning.... like the older meta with monkey, claw, and 3.5k hp. 
now, as weapons gets buffed till they are essencially op (compared to back then) like terrorblade and swoop. you gotta have some stuff to balance than out. hence the nearly op and crucial combined modules. 
now, we're already starting the 3rd wave** . the new fanarts are getting more and more op stats because we think there's always something missing in the game, like more op items and more op mechs. ...
maybe it's also because the name of the game is "SUPERmechs". something can't be super without having and absurd amount of hp and power, right. 
either way, it's not really much of a surprise to see op things like combined modules, because eventually, you'll see more
(That is if the devs will ever release the next update, or just let the game slowly die on its own. )

I'd say they should merge at the rate regular items do.  So 2 commons to make a rare, 3 rares to make an epic, four epics to make a legendary,  Would make all those commons and rares you get in clan war useable, but not devalue legendary relics too much.

3.  Never bought any as far as I recall.
4.   I might draw a knob in the blank space if I'm bored.
5.  I'll say 7, on the basis that 1 would be having nothing but heat torsos while trying to build a balanced stable of mechs, whereas I have  a nice range of maxed torsos, and am just wondering whether to divine a maxed lightning vest and re-arrange my energy mech to take it in place of the divined Naga there at the moment. 
6.  Moar perks - a giant Cthulhu head would be favourite. 
Ah - just realised what the question about heat torsos was driving at - I'd still rate 7, on the basis that Nightmare should do a fair job in an energy mech if need be, and the monkey or Windigo is decent in physical, so you could manage a decent lineup with those 5. 

Free choice of any four items in the whole range, so you could have four QCB if that's what you want, or a Swoop plus vest plus Heronmark plus Red Rain, or whatever.   Each item at its lowest start point.
 
Plus 5 Legendary relics.

I went for the latest one on the alt because I wanted the module.  Shocking drops - first three boxes were all purple.

I ignore them.  I ignore the ones who go LOL or EXACTLY AS PLANNED too, unless I'm certain of winning, when I give them a nice little parting shot.

I do Bigboy on hard because I can reliably autofarm it and be doing something else while it runs.  Seems to give decent fortune box rates, and I've had items like Swoop from those fortune boxes.

Mine's arrived now -I get the daily rewards at different times of day on the main and the alt, so it figures.  Very nice drop too.
