  1. Sorry, that's insanity. If you do that, people will then complain about feature creep or power creep. To a point, sure, power creep is the reality of warfare. We're always trying to build (in the military) newer, better planes, tanks, bombs, missiles, guns, etc. As for the "10 turns to end a battle," that's like lower rank stuff. I don't think we need to worry about changing how many turns a battle takes, especially because then you start a cascade of then having to increase the # shots you get from weapons and such. I would vote in favor of buffing Zark, but your argument isn't very compelling, to me. All the torsos are more or less within 1% efficiency right now. I don't see a need to change any of them, except maybe EFA (slight HP buff but then make it 0 energy and 0 regen). It starts taking less time as you upgrade your base.
  2. I completely support this. If anything, I think the arena buffs should be increased. Even if the next level on items other than the HP buff cost 1000 arena coins, or whatever 2x the previous buff cost was in coins, I think it's better than not having it. As for XP, I am tempted to say XP should become gold when you farm the campaigns at campaign rank 250. Sort of like energy drain becoming damage when you drain your opponent dry, so XP should become gold. It makes farming worth it. I note that there are some top rank players who have said they don't farm the campaign any more now that they are at level 250.
  3. Oh, you mean like boosting everyone instead of boosting specific people in other clans?
  4. No thanks. First off, reducing weight is not a nerf, it's a buff. Second, no, we don't need yet another torso in the list of top torsos. All the torsos in this game are already only about 1% different from each other. There are already torsos that do what the Zark would do in your proposal. Therefore you'd just be making Zark equal to another torso, so why bother? I want your ideas, and I'm not trying to discourage you, but I don't think SM needs yet another torso to get buffed. I think we need new torsos and items. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm right.
  5. We've been over this many times. And to be fair, please reduce your font size. Large fonts won't make it happen like you want. The base is better in the long term. And the prices have been adjusted. If you want base disabled, email Alex using the forum FAQ link or something. But Alex is busy. I get it, and I've asked that this get fixed, too, but the base is now a lot better in my opinion.
  6. Today's portal is the most lucrative I've ever seen. Thanks @Alexander!
  7. It would have if I had stayed, yes. It's not hard to see the 5% increase in damage and armor that having divine premiums would bring. Like, all premiums, from MPV to Mercy to Distance Shredder. Think about it. To be fair, if the portal we just had is something Alexander keeps doing, what I said about clan rewards may change. But the fact that you're saying this and you have been playing SM this long tells me you're biased. Because I know you've won matches by 1 hp or less than 100 hp. That extra 5% a divine gives you can very much spell victory in a game where weapons are RNG based.
  8. Still open. Send me a private message if you are interested! Our requirements: Rank 10 (but we have a padawan program for those who aren't rank 10 or higher). Five daily wins or 35/week. No smurfing, hacking, or boosting. Titan fights optional, but must farm 50 tickets or more to be allowed to fight the titans (to prevent moochers). Clan wars mandatory.
  9. AHAHAHAHA My experience and the opinion of other people disagrees with what you just said. My clan got to about #85 in the game and the rewards were still A/B/C/D box, not very impressive. Twelve months in my own clan got me 5 legendary ascension relics. Three weeks in Reign Forever and I got 5 legendary ascension relics. Top clans get nice rewards, and that's exactly why people want to be in them. The rewards are very different. It's not about ego, although that is part of it. It's about rewards. You can't get ascension relics anywhere else that I know of other than clans. Sorry man, you're wrong. I agree with the Mechzilla fix here: make ascension relics the same as other items in terms of premium packs and boxes. If people can get ascension relics at roughly the same scarcity as premium items in premium packs, this will take a lot of the incentive to be in a top clan away. Until the tabbing fix, that was going on in top clans, based on reports from people who left those clans. I'm not mentioning names. And I wouldn't be surprised even if some top clans are still cheating and we just don't know how it's done. Then there's also boosting.
  10. But think about that. That's 1,826 hours. If you take the example of an adult that has other commitments who can only do 2 hours a day, if we do math, it will take them 2.5 years. Whereas the wife and I beat BL3 on easy in 1 month, and will beat it on Normal in 1 month, and then move on to mayhem levels just to get some nice weapons (all of which drop at mayhem level 5). So for Borderlands 3 it would take 7 months to reach the maximum of what the game allows (comparable to being rank 1). Let's be honest: in today's modern societies, not many people have the patience to grind on a game for 2-3 years. I'm not saying this to be a jerk. I'm saying this so that we start thinking about how we can improve SM.
  11. I can agree here, 1 or 2 tokens per win for the 5 daily wins shouldn't be a lot to ask. I would argue that it should be like 5 tokens, but whatever. As it still seems to take people a year to reach top ranks (paying) or longer (not paying), tokens for the 5 daily arena wins makes sense to me. In terms of general game design, I question a game that takes people longer than a year to reach top ranks. I think this would help fix what I view as a problem with SM: it shouldn't take F2P players more than a year to reach top ranks. Maybe it should take F2P a year to reach top ranks (like exactly a year, playing the game one hour a day every day). Then P2W status would be to get to top ranks faster than a year. With other games I've played, it's taken less than a year to reach a level at which you don't feel you are limited by a lack of items or weapons. Like TF2. Like BL3. DLC or payment should only be for the impatient, in my opinion, and there are plenty of people who are impatient so business should still be good
  12. This is difficult to answer all in one post, but here's my reply: First, I get it, you're burned out. Sorry that happened to you. Yeah, top clans are taxing. But there are some problems I'd like to address. I am not pointing a finger at you or anyone, but here's my 2 cents. Sub-point to #1, I find it a waste of time to play any game more than one hour a day. Do I? Yes, sometimes I do, for the sake of my clan, and my allies while I was in Reign. (I was only there 3 weeks to learn. I don't promote myself over my clanmates.) Sub-point to #1, this game gets monotonous real quick. Alex has done things to try to break up the monotony, like arena pads and such, but yeah, the game is monotonous. A game like, say, Borderlands 3, has a lot more variety. That's just how things are right now. (I am not dissing SM so much as I am saying we need SM 3.) Second point, saying WLGang is by far the best clan, that's not scientific and you can't measure it. How do you know which clan is best? And how can a clan be the best for everyone? And what's up with saying WLGang's hands are "relatively clean"? Do you know other clans or only what WLGang members told you? Starting a moral statement like this on a game like SM, with how rampant boosting is, even among the "relatively clean" clans, is like one pig in a mud puddle claiming to be more clean than the pig that's next to him in the same mud puddle. I get it, you like WLGang, and I'm not here to change your mind. But that's the problem with boosting: now that everyone's painted themselves into a corner with boosting, which is the opposite of being chivalrous, now "everyone's doing it" and no one wants to be the first clan to stop doing it. I would imagine there are very few clans that don't boost within the top 50 clans. And then of course there's the hacking thing: tabbing was only recently fixed, and some of the top clans were engaging in tabbing, or so I hear. But of course, ban waves, etc. And yes, top clans are taxing. But with all due respect, compared to the other games on the market, it's like people are spending hours fighting over who gets to be the captain of a ship that's not in the top 10. I am not dissing SM, but it's not the top game out there, and a fair and balanced check versus the 8 or so factors that make a game great reveals that SM is rather lacking. Don't get me wrong, I offered to help with some of these to make SM better, but oh well. *shrug* As for top clans being pressured by the community: pressured to do what? To be top clan? Screw that. They should exist to be chivalrous and fair, a community of soldiers out there trying to do their best. Pressured to get rewards? Screw that, that's the type of thinking that fuels people trying to cheat or boost their way to the top. We are what we do. Those who do things that are not chivalrous make themselves a reputation. I'm not jealous of their position. I'm not saying WLGang is hacking or cheating, but I'm not saying they aren't. I'm not here to take sides. I'm here to point out that clans have become what their leadership and their members wanted to be. As for how clans become top clan in this game, sure, maybe that can be addressed. Maybe the focus should be on being involved rather than just tons of AP. But at the end of the day, the problem may also become that there is not another way to judge the clans in terms of top clan. What else is there? Doing community service and mailing signed affidavits to Alex? Heck no. I think the current SM system might overly reward people who reach top rank and stay there (i.e. aren't involved, but just do enough to get rank 3 or higher). But how else are we going to do this? As for clan politics, I'm surprised clan politics are even a thing on this game. I'm sorry, but I spent as much on this game as a refurbished PS4 with Borderlands 3. Which made me question why I spent so much in the first place. Not dissing SM, and I'm not trying to discourage people from spending money on SM. But at the end of the day, I felt like this was not cost effective. So why is there even clan politics? To me it's like people fighting to be the captain of a small boat that has a small hole in it. First off, SM is a "small boat" among yachts like GTA, Payday, BL3, and others. Second, it has a small hole: it can be maintained, but I don't think SM 2 (which is what we're playing basically: reloaded) has much of a future. I am not saying the franchise is bad: we can make SM 3 and continue this game's legacy, sure. But flash (or action script) isn't going to last forever. And no game lasts forever, either. So I'm trying to encourage you. Don't fixate on SM. Take a break. Get some sun. Find a clan that's more about people than about winning. EDIT: also, in Alex's defense, making a game that is perfectly balanced is VERY DIFFICULT. Even games that get close to balance among player classes like TF2 and BL3 are constantly putting out hotfixes to tweak stuff. EDIT2: to be fair, even if SM2 (SM right now) is a small beat up boat with a hole in it, we CAN keep bailing the water out and row the boat towards the solution (i.e. SM3).
  13. Rating 3 out of 10. Your stats are super low. Here's how I would do this (and have done this, if you've seen my videos).
  14. With all due respect, it sounds like your build is the problem. Please post your build here if you already haven't. By the way, say what you want but dual malice beam can only get to rank 3 at best, while dual frantic ("frantic cancer") can get to rank 1. Dual corrupt light can probably get to rank 3 at most. The problem players run into in middle ranks is that modules start to count, and often such players either were sacrificing their modules or don't want to go through the grind of upgrading their modules to mythical. So show us your build, please.
  15. Alexander cares to fix things. He's not perfect but he's better than TactiSoft.
  16. First of all, are you against boosting? I won't judge how you reply. And right now, people who boost just reset their app to reset their ability to be matched. If you mean incorporating it into the server side, some people might get upset with that if it doesn't distinguish between ladder and non-ladder matches. It might be tricky. I'd still want it incorporated into the replay system. That way even if the system doesn't stop you from boosting, at least initially people can easily go look at people's replays and see whether they're boosting or not. I am no programmer, so I don't know which solution would be the easiest to implement.
  17. Maybe fix the replay system so that ALL arena fights are logged? That way if they're fighting boosting accounts, i.e. alts, everyone can see it?
  18. SawzAll is my main, and my "ambassador" to Reign. TableSaw is my alt and runs my clan. My clan mates are strong enough that I am able to do both. I am in Reign to learn things that I can use to improve my clan. A US soldier who is sent to work with NATO or the UN doesn't cease being a US soldier. And ironically we had someone join just today, so N0ble Warriors only keeps getting stronger.
  19. Ever had that feeling like you want something more from SuperMechs? Look no further. Noble Warriors is here. What sets us apart from some other clans is our commitment to doing what is right. Like knights of the old round table, we take a vow of chivalry. We pledge to not smurf, which exploits people in lower ranks. We don't hack. We also don't boost. We are committed to play fair. Our requirements: Rank: 10 through 1. Arena battles: just your 5 daily battles (or 35/week) Clan Wars: participation is mandatory. Titans: optional. Discord: mandatory that you join our discord so we can coordinate actions. Pledge to not hack, smurf, or boost. Message me if you're interested. By the way, our clan is spelled "n0ble warriors" i.e. N-ZERO-B-L-E W-A-R-R-I-O-R-S. I had to change the "o" in "noble" to a zero. PADAWAN CHANNEL: Now Noble Warriors is also hosting a padawan channel where you can learn how to play SuperMechs from us. Not rank 10 or higher? No problem, we're here for you. Message me if you're interested. You get to learn from top rank players. I can't guarantee they will be there, but our discord is home to @epicspeedster @ZeRo_ and even @Mechzilla.
  20. Ok, I get it, but really, I think the main reason energy mechs can be overpowered, or look that way, in low and mid ranks is because people tend to upgrade torsos, legs, and weapons before modules. Almost every time I've helped a newbie in low to mid ranks who is trying to get better, like their first time really asking these types of questions, almost every time their modules are horrible. And module upgrading is probably the most boring part of the game because, unlike weapons and torsos and such, you don't see the results as quickly. It's more visceral and exciting to hit someone with a heck of a lot more damage when you max out a weapon than it is to simply have higher heat/energy stats. So I don't think your conclusion that EMP being lightened would make energy mechs overpowered is entirely correct. I think it's more that they would seem overpowered, and only because of people's upgrade practices. Mine were the same way: torsos and weapons first. I didn't get out of mid ranks until I upgraded my modules.
  21. Yep and that's why it's considered dirty. And why it's yet one more thing the community wants changed. And you know why my clan is dedicated to not boosting.
  22. Why not? Are you saying it's impossible to run counters with combined modules?
