  1. In warfare, when your enemy designs a better counter to your weapon (i.e. combined mods versus EMP), you improve your weapon to compensate. All of warfare science and warfare technology is ultimately power creep.
  2. Just like the title says: in your opinion, what is the best non-premium drone for a heat damage mech?
  3. NGL this is the first thing that came to mind.
  4. I'm not saying it's necessary or not. I'm saying it's up to you. But deals are a more efficient way to spend your tokens, so yes, I would say if you can wait, you should wait.
  5. The deals Alex gives us are nearly always a discounted rate on premium packs ... AND on the other items he usually includes (gold, arena coins, quad cores, etc). It's up to you if you want to wait for them or not.

    base

It is now, yes. Commons are < 1000 gold each in the base, and commons are the most efficient way to upgrade items. On days like today, where there's more fuel in the campaigns, farming campaigns generates enough gold to keep 3 factories running all day long building commons.
  7. Go to the Battle Dawn website and try to log in using your email and current game password. If you don't know the password, click lost password and go use your email to reset it.
  8. BLUF: When you build power kits in the factories, the chance of rare is 22.31% LONG STORY: Because I was bored, I decided to test the power kit chance of rare power kits. So me and 2 others from Noble Warriors ran some power kits to see what happened. The first 3 results that one person got were identical, but it was not an error. So I ran the numbers on all of the results (130) and it came out to 29 out of 130, or 22.31% I decided to test this, however, by including only one of the first three that were identical, just to test to see if this random chance would make a difference (i.e. whether, if I assumed it was a fluke and discarded them, if that changed the results). The result with the first two discarded was 21%, well within the 5% margin of error I would accept in random chance rolls. So there you have it. Thanks to @Marethryu and @AftoKrator for their help! Screenshots below. Our data points:
  9. No worries. I would be totally down with having a heat drone that pulls people in. Heat huggers could become even more scary.
  10. Um, what are we looking at?
  11. Um, the title says heat version of backstabber, not flame wave............ just sayin' ...
  12. But by that logic, Nightmare is better, just sayin'
  13. The players who've been playing since legacy are telling me otherwise. Me, I wasn't around so I don't know who to believe.
  14. Unless you nerf it so that adding movement to it don't make it over-powered. Because that's originally why they nerfed it to remove movement: it's overpowered.
  15. Yeah, it's not my image, and I agree: don't transform power kits, it's inefficient. Unless you just have nothing else better to do and feel like wasting gold.
  16. Not even. Also, this helpful image:
  17. I'd argue that this is incorrect because of the science behind communication, but alas....
  18. Yeah because directly asking RR/RF about it and getting their take would be too easy and obvious </sarcasm> Or you don't do a good enough job making your replies look sarcastic?
  19. Actually, that would be EFA (34/34/34) and the MPV and LPV (77/22/31 or 77/31/22 depending on which). I think EFA is the most underrated torso. I love EFA. It's got high resistance in all categories (but not as high in physical as the MPV/LPV). If your build can support energy-free, it's a good substitute for MPV/LPV in energy-free builds, even though it's not perfect. It has the highest heat resistance of any torso in the game, too. EFA plus savior resistance and (for example, heat damage) desolation and heat bomb can be quite formidable in middle ranks. Like I said, EFA isn't the top torso, but it's still very good.
  20. Is this because the tabbers were getting tired of creating new accounts and tabbing all over again? It's also fun to watch people claim that something existed that never existed. You know, sort of like flat earth people I'm not here to start flame wars or clan wars. But I'll say that my coal shovel is very big.
  21. I would recommend dropping the savior resistance when you're fighting in the arena. It will not make as much of a difference as having better modules will make. I'd recommend 3x heat engines, 1 mass cooling booster, and 4 energy engines. I know it takes a while to get those when you're just starting out, but you can do it.
  22. --------- Just a side note ------- NWC is not a "recruiting ground" for Reign. We allow it at times, but given that we made it to #34 clan in the clan wars this season, I want to reiterate we are our own clan. And I believe my clan mates are good people that can achieve top ten clan status. For me, this is more an alliance of shared beliefs. RR/RF value chivalry highly, like we do in NWC. RR/RF hate hackers, like we do.
  23. Well a lot of the boiler depends on tactics. You can have all divine stuff but if you can't manage heat, boilers will wreck you. Also, like I said, low to mid ranks. Very few people can handle top ranks without at least some form of premium resistance. I didn't get to top ranks until I had max'd MPVs and max'd defense matrices. But there are exceptions, of course, like @ZeRo_, who got to rank 1 without any. (To be fair, he had OEMP and some premium weapons, etc.) As for energy, only good energy. And even then, tactics-wise, most energy mech users I know of are in such a hurry to drain you that they forget to manage heat, so the "drop heat bomb when they drain you" tactic works even on people in top ranks. Again, my idea here was to offer low/mid ranks a nice build to help them. But I appreciate your honest feedback, too!
