  1. I agree, it desperately needs a buff. It is completely useless at higher ranks as of now. Most high rank player (playing a monkey) have minimum 2.8k hp, and 89 heat resistance. Supposing you have an active drone, per say flame spear, and you always hit maximum damage, with no movement whatsoever, and your drone is always in range; the following scenario would occur:

    Turn 1:

    Activate Drone: 240 damage

HP of opponent, starts at 3k: is now 2.76k

    Res is now 82

    Your heat is now: 50

    Opponent heat is now: 68

    Turn 2:

Dual Deso activation, and drone hits:

    301+311+267=879

    Hp is now: 1881

    Res is now 55

    Your heat is now: 212

    Opponent heat is now: 254

    Turn 3:

Dual deso activation, and drone hits:

    328+338+294=960

    Hp is now:921

    Res is now: 28

    Your heat is now: 370

    Opponent heat is now: 440

    Turn 4:

Dual deso activation (last uses), and drone hits:

    355+365+321=1041

Opponent is now dead (-121 hp)

    Res is 1

So in the best possible scenario with the highest damage dealing heat drone, with no movement, full usage, no overheating on your part, and maximum hits at all times, and an opponent with relatively low health and low resistance (if they use a fortress will be higher), the dual deso player barely manages to kill him off. A 15% percent damage increase is rather small.l I think it would need a 25% damage increase, but no heat generation increase. Because the heat generation is a side effect, and is useful to make your opponent skip 1-2 turns each match, giving you the damage edge you need.

I like the sound of that! I may come out a bit biased since I myself run a Dual Desolation build, but these proposed values do make sense even to the perspective of someone who has never touched a Desolation.

I did the maths, and the final damage value for our hypothetical buffed Desolation would be around 298-440 (please do correct me if there are miscalculations). If anybody here thinks that it may be a bit too much as its damage is very similar to the damage output of a Spartan Carnage (286-490), hear this out: the Desolation weighs 15 kg more than a Spartan, while also having a more complex range, and twice the heat generation.

Either way, I do honestly think that we should up its weight a bit in addition to the heat generation cost increase. Probably increase it from 66 kg to 68 kg (or even up to 70 kg) so it can at least have a balancing factor.

Whatever path would be taken, I'm sure people would like to see one of the most reliable weapons that an F2P player could run receive some love. Would also motivate people more to try out new builds with energy free heat mechs, and not just Burning Showers everywhere. 😉

The main difference between spartan and deso is the resistance drainage, which makes spartan a lot stronger. However a small weioght increase would also be ideal.

(btw i'm not a dual deso player but I agree with you)

Hopefully they'll never buff Zark, as buffing is a never-ending vicious circle.

But I guess I can flex how far I've gotten the torso upgraded....

    image.png.69dda1dbcaf53d81518764e725f20b5e.png

When I get to about 1300 hit points, it will become my physical mech's torso.

The EFA in this picture is waiting for when I get two Sorrows.  I plan on having two "teams", one that's energy dual valiant + heat hug + physical distance shredder & mercy.  Then the second team will be identical except the heat hugger will be replaced with an energy-free dual sorrow.

U do know getting that many premium items isn't that easy right haha

    Build A

    1948662876_supermechs356.JPG.625f64f658bd8c57de66e828c518bf4b.JPG

    pros:

    has tele charge and hook

    pretty tanky

    good heat stats

    energy free

    cons:

    range weakness from 5-9

    Build B

    1423145583_supermechs357.JPG.80c15d7bff661dcaf0aea9254ce58ad1.JPG

    pros:

actually has a range 4-8 weapon

    energy free

    good heat stats

    cons:

    only tele and hook

    a bit less hp

only one weapon for ranges 4-8

I know you're not asking for help, but you don't need hammer if you have recoiler

i suggest using windigo instead of zark, since the buff made windigo far stronger.

Yeah, I know.  But for now I'm holding on to it because I am grinding and upgrading a substitute.  And at least for the campaign huggers, it's effective.  My magma recoiler is like maybe level 28 legendary but my hammer is mythical level 30 so for now I'm holding on to the hammer.

What I'm kicking myself over is fooding my viking hammer 😞

But anyways, I'm just holding on to it for now, mainly for campaign clingers.  I have some changes coming.  My heat mech may transition to energy free soon.

I recommend you keep the hammer for campaign, against triple ash creators or those weird builds u meet in arena. With a blast and sorrow there are many many  builds you can make.

How would these charges deal heat and energy damage?

The charges don't even make contact with the enemy XD

when charging a red or blue semi circle would form around the part of the mech that collids.

So it would be like a flash-bang then?

    Exactly

  5. Firstly, this is in no way a problem for me but on some days, including today, after completing my 5 daily arena matches with reward, after some time it gives me another 5.

Secondly, In campaign 3v3, normally in each 3v3 team there are two kinds of mechs with two copies of one build, and one of the other, in some levels you may fight two teams of buggies for example. We call one build a and the other build b, normally the team configuration for team 1 is: a, b, b and for team 2 it is: a, b, a. The glitch is that after fighting team 1, when I encounter team 2 it has the same configuration as team 1, except the last buggy won't use any attacks except stomp, and after a while just refuses to use its action points, forcing me to reload and restart the level.

Lastly, I notice that in the forum, when you quote someone, there is no button, like in the old forum, to scroll up to the quoted response.

  6. Well for the charge engine, it could be that the mech gets a heat or energy semi-circle in front of it so when it collides it would somewhat make sense that it deals heat or energy damage, the heat teleport could teleport in a ring of fire instead of in an energy sphere, I don't know how to make a decent looking physical teleporter.

yeah I see that in the META, how it recommends two resistance-draining weapons, then a 1-2 range weapon that hits hard, then distance shredder.

I have sacrifice cannon on my arena config, not my campaign config (because the computer loves to backfire itself to death).

yes the computer is ratehr stupid in campaign if i use my protector drone im weaker than if i use my clash

Unless you are also a hugger 🙂

Granted, I just realized we're on CleverName's thread, so we should probably stop recommending things because they were probably asking for CleverName to weigh in.

haha true, i think @Alexandershould create a build help thread and pin it.

It depends on what you want.  Against an energy-broken mech, Storm Weaver will do the most damage of all energy melee weapons.  BUT it's not META.  And I don't know of anyone who has made an energy hugger.  My mech is currently Storm Weaver, Last Words, Malice Beam, Hysteria, and Unreliable Guardian.  I plan to build up a Viking Hammer to replace my Storm Weaver (because I'm not a hugger).

This is a conversation I had with someone who's in the top 10.  They explained that this is why the heat hugger has Terror Blade: it may look on paper like it's weak until you realize that it's great for huggers.

Honestly, I love hitting people with Storm Weaver when they have very little energy.  The damage goes up more than you might think.  And it also chops 32 off their capacity.

But for a non-hugger, I think Viking Hammer (if one insists on having a melee weapon) is better when paired with Last Words, and that's also META for the top energy build (i.e. viking hammer is META and Piercing Fox, for which Last Words can substitute temporarily until you get a piercing fox).

viking hammer is generally better, because it puts your other weapons in range, i believe it does more damage, and is a lot more effective against huggers.

  10. Just now, SawzAll said:

I did, but only temporarily.  Sacrifice cannon and distance shredder are on some META mechs, but I need to get them upgraded because they're weak at the moment.  In fact, my frantic brute does more average damage than my distance shredder, but I'm upgrading my distance shredder so that once it does more average damage, I can put it on.

average damage isn't so important, the shredder synergises very well with the cannon and on your mech the cannon is decisively better

The one with more hit points.

But I question the need for Bulldog when the META shows Piercing Fox and Viking Hammer.  It's not that you can't use Bulldog.  You could also use Storm Weaver instead of Bulldog because it's lighter and, against an energy drained enemy, will deliver a much stronger blow.  So it's up to you.

    Have you seen the META?

nooo storm weaver is rather garbage, bulldog is definately stronger cuz of the better range, however recoiler is way better and should be used instead

upc and biug daddy might work better or fox recoiler and dual val would also work

okay, so I have a a question and 2 ratings 😃 which of these energy builds is better? please rate the better energy build and this phys build. (Rate 1/10)

The reason I'm asking is because I am looking at these builds for future possibilities. I have everything shown in the builds, except valiant

Yes I do.  I'll try this config out in the campaign, but my rock recoiler is brand new, so I may continue to use my higher level weapons until the others are up to speed.

    Makes sense

    Don't have a mercy yet.

I have an Annihilation.  My rock recoiler is like level 1 epic (brand "new").

well recoiler is many time stronger than backbreaker, it is worth it to equip it now, since it will also work at range 2 to put your sitance shredder in range, it allows better control on all ranges, and it works if your enemy is cornered with your ight in front of him, however mercy would still be the best option for you, imo the mech would still function better with a nightfall since with this buld you are weak at range 3. also do u have a charge?

... ive gotten i think like, 8 nightfalls overall...iv also gotten a LOT of useless epics and legendaries... one time i got a legendary banshee.... also, here's my flex(almost done with the second gorilla torso)

    @Tirreggregars

lel one more campaign mission and i will max it

triple nightfall build, very interesting, also just a tip normally you should myth torso, then drone, then wepaons, then legs, then modules

guys why is it so hard to get a night eagle? ive noticed a lot of players with them. i have NEVER, EVER, gotten one......and ive been playing for 3 years

ig ur just unlucky, took me so long to get a nightfall, ive pulled 3 legy nighteagles from packs and such, wish it would stop haha

  15. 1 minute ago, SawzAll said:

I'm thinking about that right now.  The problem is even though I'm attempting physical hugger, it's either annihilation + stomp or backbreaker + nightfall.  In terms of the combo, it appears that back breaker has the advantage, but i could be wrong.  I'm currently testing it in campaign and (in a few minutes) in WU to see what difference it makes.

Backbreaker is generally bad, it requires energy, does no res drain, the cooling and regen damage is useless and the damage output could be better, a recoiler would work better, otherwise leave the weight for modules, or maybe a mercy
