  1. It is in ranks 1. Mechzilla uses it. He's #4. It's not pictured below, sure, but I know I've seen it in his inventory before. But the META list CleverName posted isn't designed to be a format we must rigidly adhere to. Energy is weak in top ranks, everyone pretty much knows this. But that doesn't make my advice invalid, either, as I'm an energy player myself in rank 10/11. Valiant sniper is powerful: I'm facing people with only one valiant in the arena at my level and that weapon is extremely good at draining. I may be new, but veteran players have already pointed out that energy is not for all out physical damage, and it's not really that good at resistance drain, so what tactic is left? Energy drain. So that's why I pointed the original poster at energy drain tactics. For clarity's sake, I never told the person that dual valiant sniper is the ONLY config. That would be a misinterpretation. I said read the meta post. And to be fair, the single valiant + grim cobra config is also in there. Second, obviously those meta configs work as a whole, so you can't just slap on dual valiant and expect to be rank 1 overnight. I simply pointed the person at the meta. I did say in the meta, dual valiant is top energy right now. But I didn't say it's the only config to use. Single valiant and other configs are just as valid. It depends on the weapons you have. Me getting a distance shredder didn't make me CleverName overnight.
  2. Some people like Overloaded EMP. I'm not one of them, but I've faced someone who uses this weapon in the arena. If not for my energy-free weapons on my physical mech, they would've beaten me.
  3. I see you recently reached rank 1. Can you share a WU page of your mech configs? I don't know what your game ID or handle is, so I can't just go look you up in the game............
  4. I'm going to start off by saying that I'm only rank 10/11 in the arena and have been playing the game only about 3 months. I recently heard some anonymous high-ranking person say they do not understand the META that CleverName has so graciously posted for us. I'm not going to say I fully understand it, because I am not God and there's no way to 100% know everything in the universe. But I can build the same mechs in WU and then fight them against each other and learn how they work. And I can watch replays of the top 10 players' fights in the arena. To me, META seems understandable, but maybe I'm missing something. I'm not insulting those who don't understand it. I'm asking what don't people understand about META? (I'm not going to be the one answering that question because I'm still new.) Please post what you don't understand about META here. Maybe someone can answer it. And maybe we all can learn. I know I could use some learning
  5. Hopefully they'll never buff Zark, as buffing is a never-ending vicious circle. But I guess I can flex how far I've gotten the torso upgraded.... When I get to about 1300 hit points, it will become my physical mech's torso. The EFA in this picture is waiting for when I get two Sorrows. I plan on having two "teams", one that's energy dual valiant + heat hug + physical distance shredder & mercy. Then the second team will be identical except the heat hugger will be replaced with an energy-free dual sorrow.
  6. I probably won't, to be honest, because it's not META. That is, unless people complain loudly enough, long enough, that the only way to silence them is to buff Zark. But I have like three more in my inventory anyways, so it's probably becoming food. I know it sounds sad, sure, but still. I'm not fully decided yet.
  7. Read this. Top energy META is still dual valiant sniper, at least for now.
  8. I don't know about Desolation, I didn't get one until i got all that money for my birthday and for Christmas. Maybe they'll be luckier than me.
  9. About to be 3 monkeys I'm resisting the urge to feed my Zark to my Rusty Energy Armor. I know I shouldn't............. but .............
  10. Yep, I think I'm going to be losing the next time we face each other LOL
  11. I would hold on to your Sweetie and develop your Annihilation. Both are energy free, and you might find Sweetie helpful in an energy-free config. But I've never used Sweetie so I'm just looking at stats on paper. I don't see Sweetie in the META, but maybe it would work for you, maybe not. I love my Annihilation though.
  12. LOL like I haven't screwed up several times before. I'm not perfect either. But thanks bro. Still, it's some of YOUR advice that helped me improve. So you helped me in a way. I'm working on upgrading a rusty energy armor to swap over to my physical mech. My physical mech is probably not really ready for combat, but I've just started using it anyways, even if I lose arena rank doing so. But I'm not going to lie: part was a lucky premium pack (distance shredder).
  13. You said "and the list goes on and on." THAT is why I am against it. The requests to buff things never end. It's a vicious circle. When we buff Windigo, all the Zark owners complained. Then the Archimond owners. If we buff Zark tomorrow, Archimond owners will ask for it. Then when we buff Archimond, Grim Reaper owners will want a buff to Grim Reaper. There is a point where it's wise to notice a cycle and break the cycle. Sure, I get it, and that was basically my point with Hollow Spectral Armor. However, I'm now against more buffs. There's no point: it's a never-ending vicious circle. And he who complains the loudest wears the phattest crown. Let's put it this way: even if they decided to buff the battery armor series, I'd still ask them not to buff the energy version, because it already sucks so bad. Sometimes it's best to let bad things die. With all due respect, I think the better path for players is to save up their tokens and open premium packs until they get three of the following top-tier (now) torsos: the monkeys, Nightmare, Lightning Platinum Vest, Molten Platinum Vest, or Windigo. I'm saying this in general, not at you necessarily: Don't set your sights low, buffing a torso because you like it that isn't in META, just to then complain when it needs a buff. We've known for a long time that the monkey torsos are the best, despite the power of the recent buff to the others. If anything, now there are MORE top-tier torso options. So my advice to people is pick one and upgrade that, or keep opening premium packs until you get one of them. Because, in my opinion, any upgrades above level 1 legendary for the lesser torsos are a waste of time. The only reason to upgrade the lesser torsos to level 1 legendary is to use them to mythical a top-tier torso. I'm not saying this as someone who thinks they're better than anyone. I did exactly this: I kept the torsos I liked despite people telling me to get the monkey torsos. Heck, I used a FHA monkey to upgrade my Grim Reaper, again, despite people telling me not to. Then when my Grim and Zarkares and Avenger reached their limit in the arena, I realized other people were right. If someone wants to use Zarkares, go ahead, I'm not judging you. I'm just saying the reality of the game right now is that there are better torsos. And I don't have to be rank 1 in the arena to know this. It's not freaking rocket science. I can to read the META that CleverName was so nice to provide us and see it for myself. So as someone who was stubbornly clinging to Grim Reaper, I'm going to say it: if you want to improve, reach for the best items, because time spent upgrading things that aren't top tier is wasted time and resources. I could've been rank 10 a month ago had I kept the monkey torsos I erroneously used to mythical lesser torsos. I thought, "cool, they have resistance and heat/energy stats that are better, they must be better." I was dead wrong. That's part of why I developed that spreadsheet, and why I ask people questions on here and in Discord: because stats on paper can be wrong. Sorry for the long rant, but seriously, NO. I can complain about how the MiG-17 needs a buff in some online fighter aircraft game and how the F-4 sucks, but in the end, the F-4 is a better aircraft, and I should switch to flying that. (That's an old-school Chuck Yeager's Air Combat joke.)

    Trade?

Maybe only allow/enable trading for two accounts with the same email address that are both subscribed to the $5/month token system?
  15. I would say if you want to pull your enemy closer to you and do heat damage at the same time, go for it. I'd say try it out. By its stats, it's more about pulling people towards you and doing large amounts of damage than it is overheating someone (though it does heat damage). If I were building a heat hugger, I'd hold on to it and see if it works for me. But keep in mind I'm level 10/11 in the arena. I would recommend using Workshop Unlimited to test it out versus other configurations.
  16. Completely untrue. The game is working fine as it is right now, there's no "must" or "need" about this. You're free to express your opinion and disagree with me, but I'm against any more except possibly hollow spectral armor. And even then, I'm tempted to (on my OWN thread about HSA) say nevermind. EDIT: like it or not, there is a premium tier. It makes no sense to buff any non-premium torso to premium levels. That's not to say we're punishing F2P people for being poor or something. If they work hard and save their tokens, they can get premium packs, too. But since there is a premium tier, I don't think any non-premium item should get buffed to premium levels. That's just me. HSA is already premium so buffing it a tiny bit is fair because it's always lagged behind the other monkey torsos, so it's more about keeping the game philosophically congruent.
  17. First, still doesn't seem like a good idea for me. Second, I don't think there's any way to control for that. How does the game logic work for this? Just the torso? Or the entire mech? Or a certain # items?
  18. I already realize that But since I got a Distance Shredder today, I have already sort of made up my mind as to the direction I'm going, so ...
  19. It's the sad reaction probably. That's fine, I didn't want to build a mech that was more like a stationary gun turret anyways
  20. Sounds like I've just found one more reason why I'm never going to be a Claw player. Thanks for the help, I didn't know that.
  21. For some reason, when I equip the Claw, I can't move.
  22. Unless you are also a hugger Granted, I just realized we're on CleverName's thread, so we should probably stop recommending things because they were probably asking for CleverName to weigh in.
