  1. Figured I would flex my campaign gold increase that's max'd out. The reason I did this is because I bought a pack that contained arena coins and wanted to try to make my account "self-sufficient" because I farm the campaigns for gold. So far it seems to have helped. I'm working on maxing out my base next. Why are your screenshots so small? Anyways, I like HSA. It's better than Avenger, even if it's not the best out there. I'd equip it
  2. Sure, that's an energy-free weapon. I don't know if they will find it useful if they're already in a hugger config, but maybe it will work out for them.
  3. I do not agree at all. Savior resistance is only useful in the campaign and only with a monkey torso. In the arena, you'd be better off putting a max'd iron plating on than a savior resistance. Not only did this work out in WU when I tested it, it is what players higher in rank than I am recommend, and it has played out this way in the arena. Besides, the EFA already has resistance. Sure, maybe not another basalt dissolver. I don't think the guy has another sorrow, though. If you're going to go EFA, do not put a single energy module or energy-using item on the mech. That's why EFA is useful. I recommend against a supreme cannon because those draw energy. It's to the point where if I see someone in the arena using EFA but with energy drawing weapons, I select my energy mech to fight against them, and I usually win (at rank 10). So my advice is only use EFA if you're going to go "all the way" with the energy-free configuration. Basalt Dissolver is better because it doesn't draw energy. A heat bomb would make more sense than another supreme cannon: they also work without energy.
  4. Please attach polls to meta suggestion threads, as requested. I don't agree. Magma blast is already a META item. That means, at least in my opinion, it's already one of the top weapons in the game.
  5. Is your arena chat broken?
  6. Is your chat feature broken?
  7. To a point, I agree, but there's also Workshop Unlimited for that. https://workshop-unlimited.vercel.app/
  8. Minimum energy requirements would nerf energy-free configurations. I don't agree with the whole concept of energy free from a game-wide philosophical perspective, because of the impact on the concept of energy mechs, but that's a side topic for another day. So for now, I'm against this because it would nerf energy and energy-free. And if the game eventually requires all weapons to consume energy (even if it's only 5), that would fix energy and hard counters. But like I said, that's a deeper change to the game that would require a lot of testing, and may never happen.
  9. I would say EFA is better for what you seem to want to do. But I am not rank 1, and so I would say we'd have to ask a rank 1 person to try both configurations out and see which they think is best. And/or test this in WU. Why not set up WU so that you pilot both mechs when you fight against the computer, and then build both of them and fight them against each other? That's what I would do. I'm partial to EFA because I own one, and I prefer more hit points in this situation. But I recognize MPV has more resistance. In my opinion, the extra weight is for another basalt dissolver....
  10. I respectfully disagree. You could do that tomorrow but energy-free physical would still be top META in this game. No matter what, if there are enough weapons that are energy-free, energy can basically be ignored. I point out that the CleverName jump mech (distance shredder + mercy) and the EFA heat hugger (dual sorrow or dual/triple magma) are still entirely energy free. Nerfing modules wouldn't stop them. Sorry to reply so many times, but this thought just came into my head while I was eating lunch. The problem isn't modules, in my opinion, and I don't think nerfing the modules would fix it. I think instead the solution is bigger than that, and that it would take time and a team of volunteer testers on a test-only SM server to figure out how to fix it, because it's a game-wide problem. If two of the major META can ignore energy, buffing Windforge won't stop them. Like, with all due respect, that's half the mechs in heat and physical META right now, roughly. And coming from 20 years working on the F-117 and F-16, the digital systems in charge of firing weapons, tracking targets, and dropping weapons on target, I can tell you the reality is all weapons systems require energy. Even bombs are dropped using a high power 28 volts through explosive squibs. This part is my opinion: all items should cost energy, even if it's only 5 energy. I think the few exceptions would be modules (obviously), grappling hooks (these could be spring loaded, in theory), maybe teleports (stored batteries inside them), and maybe charge engines (the ejection seats on military aircraft are self-contained). I know that would require a touch more realism than the game currently has. I also know that would sort of disturb my energy-free distance shredder: but I'm arguing for this because I think it will fix the problem, not because it will benefit me. I think, with all due respect, as a general concept, those who have Windforge who are arguing that they want it buffed may not be completely objective because their proposal benefits them. My proposal doesn't benefit me because it would nerf my distance shredder. But I think if we're going to make energy mechs a valid thing, we would have to prevent other mechs from being able to basically totally ignore them. My point wasn't to keep arguing against Windforge, it was to share the idea that I had.
  11. Is this like a custom color kit creation idea for the shop? Because I would totally like to have the option to create custom color patterns.
  12. It's the principle of the thing. And some people use their real name on SuperMechs. I don't, but some do. I just think that's the right thing to do: to ask. Again, I'm not trying to stir up krap just because. I actually don't like drama, believe it or not. If someone started a video project and advertised on here that they wanted help, I'd probably volunteer. It's deeper than just recording. It just feels to me like people don't respect anyone enough to even ask any more. But maybe I'm just old or something.
  13. I never said he shouldn't start a YT channel, for what it's worth....
  14. Nope. First, I have this from TactiSoft (now Gato Games). I have the right to tell anyone that I don't want to be recorded, and if they refuse to honor my request, I should report them to Gato Games. I've been in email correspondence with them. Second, that's not how consent works. You don't record people against their will and then wait for them to contact you to have it removed. You should ask for their permission each time. Nothing in the ToS for this game allows people to record, so you can't say that people can record until/unless someone says something. If anything, if someone wants to record, they should ask the person before doing so. Then I ask you now, in public, please remove them. You didn't ask, so I didn't give consent. If not, you know where this will go. It's not that I am angry or vengeful, it's the principle of the thing. No one is allowed to record me without my prior consent. (And for what it's worth, the ToS doesn't even really give Gato Games / TactiSoft the permission to record me, that I could see.) To all, it's not about me being angry or upset. It's not about me suspecting people are recording me: I know it happens. But when someone is blatant about it in the arena and they don't ask me if they can, but instead say they're doing it, and then when I ask them not to they refuse to honor my request, that's when I pursue other courses of action. If you'd just ask me if I am ok with being recorded, I'm 99% sure I'd allow you to every time. The most recent person who did this, ironically, was a level 12 (I'm 10) and got their butt kicked, so it wasn't about me being upset that someone recorded me losing. I don't care about that. It's about the principles of freedom from monitoring. That's something I have legal experience with because I've been tasked in the military (for example) to research the rules on setting up surveillance.
  15. I'm not being salty at all. First, I never said you can't. You're going to do what you want anyways. And second, calling this bullying only reveals that you don't know how bullying works, much less that you probably think everyone who doesn't tell you "yes" has some sort of hatred. I don't hate you or have any ill feelings. But if you're going to accuse me of being a bully, I'm going to report your comments, because that's a false allegation.
  16. Say that all you want, but when they over-buff it, as seems to be their tendency, it will only nerf the other drones. And it doesn't change what I said: buffing Windforge will not fix energy overnight. Besides, damage to weight ratio isn't an invalid point: I'm using it to say Windforge is already good (just like Swoop was before it got buffed). Now Swoop is over-buffed so it looks like, so far, what I said was correct. Forgive my cynicism, but knowing our luck, it will do more drain than the premium drones when they over-buff it, which will only complicate the problem. Feel free to disagree with me, but I voted no.
  17. This is a rant, but I'll try to be PC. I don't understand why so many people are recording YouTube videos of SuperMechs these days. It's one thing for top rankers to record: I like that. I've subscribed to CleverName and I have watched his stuff. Not a lot, but maybe an hour at most. But I'm running into rank 12 who are recording this stuff. First, it bothers me because people aren't asking "CAN I record you?" They're just doing it and when you tell them you don't give them permission to record you, they tell you they're going to do it anyways. What ever happened to asking people first? What ever happened to people's freedom? It's not the recording, it's the principle of the thing. Second, with all due respect, there are thousands of videos on YT already. I like stuff that's unique and different, but the same old thing thing? I'm not disrespecting anyone who records. I just don't understand it. I don't record because quite frankly I'm rank 10 and I have nothing unique to offer. If someone ASKED me if they can record, I'd most likely say yes. But no one asks. Anyways, I just don't get it. Feel free to disagree with me. And this was just a rant and an opinion: I'm just venting. It's the principle of freedom and consent that bothers me mainly, but second, that most those videos are of the same old rank 25-12 rank matches which are a bit boring.
  18. Because to do to wind forge what they did to swoop would nerf all other energy drones. Wind forge is already the highest energy drone in terms of damage to weight. It's just that it is lightweight so it's stats don't look good. But this isn't, in my opinion, how you would fix energy. They broke energy when they created so many energy free weapons. THAT'S what broke energy. And over-buffing one drone isn't going to fix energy overnight. To fix the entire energy dimension will, in my opinion, require a complete overhaul of the game, and in ways few people would like or appreciate. Simply buffing a few things won't be enough in my opinion. I'm not talking arena experience. I'm talking big picture game philosophy and concept. As someone with thirty years of game experience in several games, especially mech games, it's the bigger picture that needs work. Like I played (and own) the original battle tech board game, and all mechwarrior titles up until mechwarrior 4. The problem is, however, buffs are too popular.
  19. With all due respect, I still think this is a necessary thing, at least the heat version of last words. This is why F2P heat mechs who want to use hammer have such a range 2 hole. Magma recoiler can be substituted for a melee weapon but it's not going to do a great job helping you overheat your enemy. Vote how you want, but please consider my words.
  20. Yeah I felt that was a strange result, too, but I ran it over and over. Mech config: typical F2P drainer of hysteria, malice, last words, stormweaver, rusty energy armor, and I think four energy engines. PLEASE, though, run your own tests. I'm actually interested to see what the outcome is. (Be sure to pilot both mechs in WU and make them identical, etc, as the WU enemy mech AI isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.)
  21. This is going to sound weird, but hear me out. I once ran a football-bracket with the different energy drones in WU, with two identical energy mechs, just the drones being different. Best 2 out of 3 for each. It was a LOT of WU battles. The top two drones ended up being Windforge and Unreliable Guardian, believe it or not. And with those two it basically became a contest for who got the first turn. But I considered Unreliable Guardian the winner. Both test mechs had my 500/300 cap/regen config, so none of the drones technically amounted to enough to energy break the other mech. So keep in mind this is energy v energy, and in energy vs non-energy you'd want a drone with more drain (Unreliable Guardian) probably. I would be against buffing Windforge. It fills a good niche already: it's lightweight but has the best damage to weight ratio of all the energy drones. Swoop's buff made it twice the damage to weight ratio of other heat drones, essentially nerfing all other heat drones. I voted no. That's the problem with buffing one type of item: you technically nerf all the others.
  22. Please don't think I'm giving my opinion because I'm salty. But my advice is no. Unless you're doing something extremely fascinating or different. There are already thousands of SM video channels. Do what you want, but I would not do that, personally.
  23. If you don't mind me asking, do you know of any items that are common that are worth pushing to divine? (Anyone can answer that if they want to.) Because for the life of me, I can't think of any item that starts as common that is worth upgrading all the way to divine.
