A few things:
I agree that new content is desirable, but for the purpose of shifting up the meta up top, balancing items to make more builds viable will be healthier and more impactful than adding new, stronger items I'm not sure what Gato is working on rn (maybe big updates, tidying up game code, or other projects, I know nothing about this kind of thing) but we can't do anything besides wait. I can understand feeling like the game's grown a little stale, but I don't think bringing it up will change anything. Either Gato is already making or planning future changes, or they aren't.

Finally reached rank 1 again after coming back to the game. 1v1 season is counter hell, luckily the dual mods I got recently combined with an energy free heat lead me to easily defeating any energy mech, counter or not. Heat and Phys were 50/50, even managed to defeat a couple of counters so all in all it was worth it.

Unless you're running a phys mech, in that case you indeed use Mercy.

Personal I'll maybe give free wins to people who have a kind personality and if I'm 2-3 stars in the rank

I ignore them.  I ignore the ones who go LOL or EXACTLY AS PLANNED too, unless I'm certain of winning, when I give them a nice little parting shot. 

If it’s a low stakes battle (i. e. I’m halfway into a rank), I’m much more willing to give free wins, even more so if I’ve already gotten the daily five. However, I never give free wins to counters - their rank is solely based on luck and counters are generally quite scummy (assuming they do have the resources for a rounded build).

If i don't need the win i will sometimes give it to them, only if they have a kind personality though

Hey guys,
Unfortunately, we had to disqualify  someone for breaking a rule in application, which was discovered after the match.  We have messaged the person who was fighting against him, they will get a free pass no matter if they won or lost that match, since the opponent was disqualified.
I want to remind everyone to very carefully read and follow the rules of competition so we dont have accidents like this, I know they happen but if we can avoid them, it would be great for everyone. 
I want to invite everyone who didnt manage to qualify in this tournament, to stay tuned for the next ones, I am looking forward to seeing more and more people participate.

Energy Free Armor on hard, but my insane drop was more important.

We’re open for legitimate criticism, just not for false implications or outright disinformation from a toxic angle, which happens a lot here. 

Simple fact is a fraction (<1% of runs for most of them on normal) of past boxes were fortune boxes, and said fortune boxes had, on the best ones of the last few years, a 2% L-M droprate on less items. It was abysmal and we’re not interested in being a platform for people to imply that the boxes which far exceed the drops you’d be able to get for free unless absurdly lucky are somehow similar to a generation of people who haven’t experienced the ‘fun’ of spending a day farming for some epics. Chances on regular old mix boxes was 0% on most portals - only epics as legendary, no L-M.
 
So sure, think what you want, give fair criticism and think back of the good old days of memory where all was better. But similar to the “I miss when all myths were sold in shop” or the “legacy where everything was for free”, we have no intention to allow people to convince a bunch of newbies their rosy memories are fact and get entirely the wrong idea… I think that’s fair, this is our forum after all. You’re free to make your own for that 🙂

The hybrid weapons are really annoying. Flaminator and hot flash are relatively common at lower ranks (even in r6-r7, where I am now), and fighting them as a typical heat or energy build without hybrid weapons is difficult, unless the opponent just has a bad/underlevelled mech. I don't think hybrid weapons are too strong, they're just a pain and I despise playing against them. 

This is the first round, I assume that there will be later battles between the winners until 1 person remains.
