That's usually due to a bug with the game's account registration process that loses track of new accounts and existing accounts and ends up mixing the two.
Either that, or an account "breacher" used an "account steal" method to take your account. I won't say how it works for the sake of everyone.

That's a blessing when you consider how funny it would be to see mini side bosses raining down your screen... But a curse when you realize that the bosses will make roaring noises upon hitting the bottom of the screen.
