You get Ascension relics through the following methods
. Clan War boxes
. Season boxes
. Relic Portals (If they ever appear again
. Offers that contain relics
These are the ways that I remember for obtaining Ascension relics.
In terms of how they work (If you want to know)
Common relics are used to ascend a mythical item that starts at common (Eg: Nightmare or Scorched legs) and costs 100k
Rare relics are used to ascend a mythical item that starts at rare (Eg: Grave diggers or Grim reaper)
Epic relics are used to ascend a mythical item that starts at epic (Eg, Zarkares or Massive stone feet)
Legendary relics are used to ascend a mythical item that starts at legendary (Eg: Sparked Runners or Energy free armor) 
These relics are different from transformation relics, which only appear in offers or the final campaign milestone boxes

Back for a time we would get weekly portals, was normally on a thurdsay
this was around the time when claw and backstabber was added, as despite them being l-m items they had their own portals
though there was also a time we got a 72 hour portal, which was for the arena overhaul

Not to worry, i get asked this alot, i just take screenshots in the upgrade screen (4x20 screenshots of the items)
once i have everything i go into gimp or photoshop, create a template to lay them out in, and then lay them out, so sadly there isnt a website, all manual, but dosent take long

I have been many times adviced by the game's veterans to invest now into the game and reaps the goods later as the great rumored "update" would come into the game, i decided to buy myself a 50$ meal feast instead, the chicken tasted great, people who invested on the prenium packs missed out on the spicy style dipping sauce and the tendies, period.

Apparently we should get a update this year, some sources say may, others dont, only time can tell
but all the sources I have asked have said this year.

I mean, we should be getting a game update this year so...
Not sure on the main reason but i would assume its one of 2 things
1. Base disablements were a limited time thing for after they were introduced, which we have now passed said limited time
2. to many people would constantly ask for them to be disabled, which meant that they would have to spend more time disabling them instead of doing other things,

tbh fair to have that judgment
pretty sure the devs have their hands busy with battle dawn atm, and then are planning to polish the game, tbh i think we will have a update within the year, a year max
 

Sounds like someone has had a bad day of arena.
I assume events like these are automated, was proberbly a hiccup in the games automatic systems, and then was manually triggered later, so for them to even bother turning the even on manually shows that they care.
