How to Counter Energy Huggers

How do you counter energy huggers on 2V2 campaign Danger Zone boss (#11)?  I'm trying my best to do energy-free heat to counter the energy flamethrower guys, and putting repulsors on my heat mech, etc, but I can't seem to successfully get them off of me, even by using a different "team" config where I max the heat mech's energy cap/regen out.

I have found hammers are good for keeping space, proving you aren't pushing them against a wall. Also, no-energy balistics can cut apart through those Creepy Joe mechs that want to keep you ..... close. Its just PvE so this isnt great for PvP, but take advantage of poor AI to make space with TPs so you can hammer them away when they want to sniff your mech again.

I’d recommend draining their energy or over heating them?

brute force is always the answer in late 2v2 and 3v3

use a physical build, and if you can't make it en free stack a few energy mods on it
