Fortune boxes should only be farmed in boss missions, aka the mission that's the last one in every act since the drop rate in normal missions is like 1/1000. Personally I farm the very final mission in the 1v1 campaign on insane but you can do an easier one if your mech isn't strong enough to win on autoplay. 

Hope you don't mind telling about where to grind for those fortune boxes because I mostly grind in overlords den mission 6 but no clue on where to grind fortune boxes somehow

don't use 6 weapons, only use the ones you will will actually use in battle upgrade and add modules, in this game survivability is key, the more turns you're able to survive the more turns you will be able to attack your enemy however sick your mech may look now, don't waste tokens on painting your mech, tokens are necessary for getting the best items in the game try to have all your weapons be the same type, mixing different types of weapons spreads your damage too thin, while concentrating on one doesn't try to focus on upgrading items that can reach mythical level, they are the ones with epic, yellow, orange, and white circles next to their names focus on upgrading your torso, legs, modules, weapons, in that order while still keeping the last tip in mind, try upgrading all your items somewhat equally

Backfire is just another balancing factor like weight or heat/energy cost. It does look scary but some weapons are worth the backfire, especially if you have enough HP to facilitate it, you can go all out with the damage output.
Says you, some like the windforge have been completely useless and outdated for years now so unless you are collecting them for personal enjoyment you can just food them.

This isn't even a question, just use the guardian haha. The backfire won't really matter when you can do 400+ damage to people when they're drained, just pair it with some extra hp in the mods and you'll be fine, shouldn't need much more than 1800 hp for the backfire to really not matter. (AND BACKFIRE DOESN'T AUTOMATICALLY MAKE AN ITEM BAD YOU WUSSES THAT ALWAYS USE THAT ARGUMENT)

wow, 4 years account. 2 years ahead of me. You are free to play. I was free till reached R5-r4 solid in 6 months but keeping account at lower rank on purpose. I was playing many others putting them at same power level then my last one to experiment Base was O.D FARM. I gave my others accounts to family and kept O.D FARM and hold OKI to advance on rank but developing in the side to have OD ranking equally every season and since then I play both at same level and rank and do the same generally speaking. OD. FARM also was developed at top rank as free account then got parts at the same time OKI did back on summer then the almost same thing I do in OKI I do in Farm.  I just play less O.D.  normally not having time. 

That is what I thought when I was rookie but the game calculate according modules and weapons or even a just one weapon and torso. 
I am playing at lower rank checking backfire on heat and energy mechs and are trash mechs but one does have good hp and one low hp because has been maxing step by step as they are. Basic mechs destroy my mechs and the game set me up with R5 many times and sometimes the game set me up with R10. Both are out of line I will say but the R5 will be logic due to myth status some weapons or torso but not ready for R5 fights. The R10 match is out of line but those guys also have L50 parts and the system match them regardless lower hp. 
When I was starting the game always matched me up with higher HP mechs and more powerful weapons. It is hard to lock by weapons level. If that happen a person with lack of modules will be trapped to play the mech with that particular weapon enhanced.  

There should be some changes, mainly maxing some amount of mythical items should lock you out of lower ranks.
