    Similar to the old forum, feel free to ask me anything. (I do reserve the right to not respond to some questions/give vague answers where applicable.)

    Some quick FAQs I usually get:
    Q: How much have you spent on SM?
    A: 5 figures USD.

    Q: Where do you live?
    A: NY, USA.

    Q: How old are you?
    A: Mid 20s.

    Q: Where do you work/what do you do?
    A: I work in private equity for a firm on Wall Street. Private Equity is basically investing in companies, improving them, and then selling them (so basically investment banking + consulting). Feel free to learn more about it online!

    Q: What's your name?
    A: Sorry, I'm trying to keep my identity secret. (So that is why sometimes I may not answer some questions too clearly.)

    Q: Do you have a YouTube channel?

    A: No.

    A: No.

    Q: Can you help me with builds?
    A: I prefer giving build advice to Rank 1 players, as that's where I have the most experience. There should be a Build Help section on this forum; I'd recommend you go there to ask for help. I made a topic on Current Meta Builds - I always play the best build in the game.

    Q: Why do you play SM/why did you spend so much?
    A: SuperMechs for me is something I enjoy playing. I enjoy playing it not so much for the technical aspects, but it’s more of a nostalgic game for me as I played it when I was a bit younger and really enjoyed the game (and with nostalgia, comes happiness). I don’t remember why I quit, but when I found the game again, it’s really been great. I also really enjoy the community here, being able to be creative with builds, and having a close fight every now and then. =P

    Change Suggestion: Valiant Sniper

    I think Valiant Sniper is fine as is. I believe most players play it for the energy drain component (versus damage - although that can do quite well if opponent is fully drained). With that being said, the proposed changes I think are too drastic (of a buff) for Valiant.

    (This "nerf" seems like a "buff" to me.)

    For the trade of -30 energy damage in exchange for +12 regen damage and +60/88 electric damage (!!), I think the new Valiant would both be strong in energy damage, regen damage, and electrical damage. Additionally, the 12 regen damage somewhat has a "breakeven" point of ~3 turns (12*3 = 36 which is a bit more than 30 damage missed). So assuming Valiant is used and the match lasts more than 3 turns, the -30 energy damage with +12 regen damage generally results in net positive for the Valiant owner from original version. Plus, you don't even need to drain the opponent to do increased damage; as it's already raw damage (electric damage). I think the effect this change would have would make Valiant way too strong.

    Perhaps a buff may be needed for Valiant (a very very small one), but I can't support OP's proposed changes. =P

    Hey folks,

    With the new forum, I guess I can finally give myself a proper introduction. By way of background, I played SM during legacy, quit, and returned around Dec 2019. Since then, I've grown to enjoy the game a good amount and am pretty active. I may have spent a cent or two on this game. I'm in the clan Trolls Fast and hopefully you'll see me around on the leaderboard. 😉 

    On a personal note, I'm a guy in my mid-20s and live in NY, USA. I work in private equity for wall street firm and have a decent finance background in other fields. I'm really good at chess and enjoy watching some TV shows/movies in my spare time. I'm pretty laid back and enjoy a good laugh. I won't disclose my name as I wish to remain private (but feel free to call me Clever).
