Ik its hard but try to get a cockpit and a pizza slicer.

I would recommend dropping the savior resistance when you're fighting in the arena.  It will not make as much of a difference as having better modules will make.  I'd recommend 3x heat engines, 1 mass cooling booster, and 4 energy engines.  I know it takes a while to get those when you're just starting out, but you can do it.
