correct. For a free to play is grind and that include a pay to win. No matter what you are slave of grinding to move your account up on power. As an old person who play electronic games since the 70's I always did the basic to become strong. I was always in arcadia on top spot in all my local areas games and used to compete and get local rewards and used to play giving me free tokens or better say opening the door and add free plays for me as an attraction people around me and to make them spend the money. Those days was the way to play and have fun with locals or crossing towns and cities. 
You want to become strong, farm. I am not an old player here but now I have 192 MYTH parts and 182 L50 at this moment in OKI DOKI acc and in my OD. FARM I do have 171 Myth parts and over 140 at L50. 
Sure, don't follow other people ways. I recommend you play according to your conditions on life and do not look other people advancements over you because if you do you will be frustrated. Just play your way and have fun with it and sure if can get some advice to set up something can be good. I do that for me. People are top on R1. I play at R3 or lower. I have power for R1 and be R1 every season if play for it. I don't have time to play serious and from start my basic was not to compete instead to level up and make parts for fun fights configurations not thinking in to win and get rank and as my intro in this game I stipulated those comments.
I did compete as test playing serious last year for 3 months only to see my capabilities against the best and pro players of this game and I was able to get full R1 stars every season and get my top AP at 268 and no more because I dropped rank to R5 to help on war. I was spot 1 for solo medals. I do not care about medals etc or be an R1 regardless of if I focus, I can reach those levels and do proper set up to my mechs for combat thing I don't do generally speaking. 
Play as you feel not as others ask you to play telling you it is a waste of account or time. It is a game and just have fun with it. Make good friends that match your thinking and feel with comfort to talk to them and can have fun.
I was solo player mostly now half of the account life. No clans. The reason I needed focus on my game and learn on my own not following the crow and their points even are logical and with common sense instead I do experiment one after another at all rank levels for my learning and entertainment. I test whatever taking losses every week. I do not care; it is the fun to try even knowing you will lose making an no sense mech. You can see the difficulties and try to win knowing will lose. I have done this since I started, and my niece also did when she played OKI by herself. 
No matter your progress level and for how long instead enjoy the ride step by step what you do for your fun in this game.

Same here I've been playing 5 years with my account when new sm came and still stuck in rank 7-10 for 3 years or less

Yeah but even then it makes no sense. Might as well add undoing of upgrades and transformations of items at that point.

Hey guys,
Unfortunately, we had to disqualify  someone for breaking a rule in application, which was discovered after the match.  We have messaged the person who was fighting against him, they will get a free pass no matter if they won or lost that match, since the opponent was disqualified.
I want to remind everyone to very carefully read and follow the rules of competition so we dont have accidents like this, I know they happen but if we can avoid them, it would be great for everyone. 
I want to invite everyone who didnt manage to qualify in this tournament, to stay tuned for the next ones, I am looking forward to seeing more and more people participate.

This is my battle against Mechheaters (IGN Come Back Mech). I won.
Match 7 with Come Back Mech was disrupted because of me since I was partially occupied and this made me lose some of my turns. As a result the match had to be restarted(match 8). I hope this does not disrupt our match in any way.

@Deimos is getting a free pass because there is no participants to match him with.
Length of rounds is increased to 3 days because holidays are coming! You need to reach out with your opponent and decide when do you want to fight. The replay code of the match has to be sent here on this topic. If your opponent doesn't reply to your messages in these 3 days then you will pass to next round without a fight. Again, have in mind that I will inspect mechs that were used in the fight. Any unregistered change will result in a disqualification!

Organizing all of this is not as simple as it sounds. I had to answer over a hundred of DMs, answer to questions that had already been answered here, make an unique link for each participant which shows their mech so it's easier to see did they cheat, put all the data together in a sheet etc...
Matchups info was supposed to be released yesterday but unfortunately not everything can always go according to plan. Something happened and I need to take care of it. Waiting one more day isn't that hard, right?

Yeah most of us are getting bored repeating the same process in what we do everytime playing this game and this is something that is quite interesting for some of us

Organizing a tournament is not as simple as you think it is.. It takes time to gather up all the data ( you have no idea yet how many people will participate ), organize it, store it, make pairs... Make everything fair and ready for you to do a battle. Pavic didnt ''trick'' you or anyone, we simply need time to do things. 
Why would anyone want to trick you anyway? Especially me, Im literally supporting this for everyone to have fun, earn some tokens, make friends.... Its beneficial for everyone. Plus not to mention its part of my job, therefore I am responsible for the tournament, community, rewards and generally everyone being satisfied and treated fairly. 
Pavke wanted to organize a tournament again on this new forum and I am very thankful he is willing to. Lets not create a mess here or cry, its our very first tournament on the new forum, lets not ruin it please.
If you or anyone has any complaints, I am here. You can message me any time really. But I wont let you guys ruin fun for everyone, have that in mind. We are doing this for you to enjoy and possibly win, its not obligatory and you are not entitled to it. If you still try to ruin it, you will face consequences. 
Like I said up there, this is a first tournament, there will be others hopefully. So lets just chill and try to have fun, no matter if you participate or not. 

Read the tournament rules before asking questions that are already answered there guys, make sure you really understand the requirements and what you need to do :))

Dont worry if you didnt manage to apply or qualify or find time to participate in the tournament, this is only the first tournament we will be doing on forum, you will have many chances in the future :)) 
 

Fortune boxes should only be farmed in boss missions, aka the mission that's the last one in every act since the drop rate in normal missions is like 1/1000. Personally I farm the very final mission in the 1v1 campaign on insane but you can do an easier one if your mech isn't strong enough to win on autoplay. 

Hope you don't mind telling about where to grind for those fortune boxes because I mostly grind in overlords den mission 6 but no clue on where to grind fortune boxes somehow

Do you have an OP mech or are you just confident for no reason?

Backfire is just another balancing factor like weight or heat/energy cost. It does look scary but some weapons are worth the backfire, especially if you have enough HP to facilitate it, you can go all out with the damage output.
Says you, some like the windforge have been completely useless and outdated for years now so unless you are collecting them for personal enjoyment you can just food them.

Max out the monkey and use the Guardian on that build. 

If you want to add more modules and don't really need a drone for the build to work, then windforge, but if you need the extra damage then Unreliable Guardian is better.
