hmmm. exactly. 
back when i first started my alt / now main account, i only thought about dmg. to the point where i was using mythical weapons and an unupgraded torso and legs up in rank 14. and then, some dude who had a similar thought with dmg first killed me just by a few hp and i realized hp is important too. so i maxed my torso (which was an MPV at the time). and then legs shortly after. it was only recently when i thought of upgrading modules. 
 
Here's how i think most newbs think of it: 
it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too onerous to upgrade all 8 of them (modules) at the same time and they give little stats after each upgrade. 
probably because that's my way of thinking a year ago

hmm. still good if used correctly. especially paired with a divine swoop and divine sorrow. 
i almost got triggered by some stupid troller this morning. my phys mech with 500 cap and 250 cooling died to a dual corrupt light build (with the stuff i mentioned above too ofc). 
tbh, really depends on how you use it. i usually use corrupt light + hybrid cannon. simply because i have one so why not use it. 
windigo. windigo got a buff a while back. even if it's slightly lower of absolute heat stats, zark is too heavy and not as worth it when it comes to other stats. 
 
really lovely hybrids. (not the monkey on claws. the other two).

well, your clearly building a boiler mech. res drainer isn't all that usefull when building a boiler. sorrow, on the other hand is better. also gives you a energy free weapon with infinite uses. 

I never got why F2P was put in the same box as no premium items. i mean, i'm F2P. i haven't spent a single sent on any sort of digital/electronic games in my life. yet, i still get premium items and i still use them. 
just because i have / use premium items doesn't put me under the label of non-F2P. 
personally, i would use this build. this was the build i started with when i first started this account. (slight changes. void instead of tonto and iron boots instead of diggers and no res drainer or recoiler)
i put a plat plate because it's a guaranteed it in campaign. could've put a max protector, but lvl 250 is a little far......
the cap and regen/cooling should be able to keep up

can use other legs like massive stone feet, but grave diggers are the best imo. (not arguing with yall on this)

When it comes to collecting resources in a game like this, there really isn't any fast way to get anything..... other than spending real money. 
Farming is good. You get what you need in exchange for doing the same boring thing over and over again. But it does get boring over time. 
If you do have base.... use the gold mines. 
Now, I know there are a lot of people on this forum that does not agree with me on the effectiveness of the gold mines from base, but, it is still something good to have for some beginners and have it's benefits. 
I know farming for hours can get your gold real fast, but science have proved that doing the same thing over and over again can drive you crazy. Also, if you want 400k to craft legendaries in base, that means: 
you have a high leveled base, which means you also have gold mines spending the gold you just earned from hours of farming is not usually a good thing (especially in real life) if you don't want to end up like a crazy person ( or maybe not, depends), only using farming to get gold is not sustainable for the long run.  Which brings me to my point. Take some gold and upgrade gold mines. It's a long term investment with absolutely no risk of losing any of your gold. Then, when you are farming, not playing SM, or doing whatever other thing you want to do, you will always be getting free gold. 
Just make sure you get the gold before it reaches the hold limit. Otherwise, you'll be losing efficiency (kinda). Also know that gold from gold mines increase at a linear rate so it doesn't really matter when you collect it.... as long as you do so before it reaches the hold limit.

There shouldn't be any design difference between the Mythical tier and Divine tier
Also it weights ... a lot ... maybe too much for less than 400 dmg
Also, exactly how much knockback is "insane knockback"? 
and, is it cost free? is that why it weighs 70?
... and ... divine stats shouldn't get more uses than mythical.... and, items that start with 1 use usually doesn't transform to have more uses

And, the word "Divine" is spelled with 2 "I", not 2 "E". 

There's not much of a skull to pierce. maybe Platinum Piercer or Titanium Piercer (name came from Platinum plating and Titanium plating)
