  1. About a month or so into reloaded, the Developers released a special 5-day portal, the unicorn portal. aside from the perk (a unicorn horn), which I have never recovered from accidentily fusing, the purpose of the portal was simple: to help those who had been dealt a bad hand with their initial boxes to get a head start. the mission was of high easy-light moderate difficulty and dropped boxes with exceptionaly good drop rates (scaled to whether you were playing Normal, Hard or Insane). Nobody knows the exact drop rates of the portal, because the past development team were exceptionally mysterious about drop rates in all instances, and it was a very long time ago now so my memory might be off, but I'd estimate something like this: Epic - 85% Legendary - 15% "Sure buddy, and I'd like to throw it to Angelina Jolie tonight instead of my fat wife, I aint getting that either." okay, so I hear you asking why I think its justified to drop a second unicorn portal now. well, allow me to do so in the form of a numbered bullet point list: A significant period of time has passed since the last portal of its kind, in which time a general feeling of discontent with the gap between those who do not spend or spend modestly and those who have been able to afford to buy every premium item as it came out. this feeling being the justification at the time for the last one. we are under new development now, with a team that undoubtedly has its own ideas about the direction they want to take the game, therefore I think its fair that all those who have lived through (survived) the TS years should be granted a good way to "catch up" at least to a certain degree in order that the community as a whole can go forward into the new era excited and ready to experience the new direction. not still tearing their hair out trying to scrape rank 5 because they can't get this or that item that they need from the past era the perk is really pretty "Did you really need a list for that, wise guy?" No, but I figured out how to do it just now and I'll be damned if I don't. In terms of the specific drop rate, I don't know if the devs have access to some kind of record of what it was on the original portal. I think the fuel costs were similar to Madboy 2v2 mission. but even just 5% would do a lotta good for a lotta people. but that's just like, my opinion, man, vote above to express yours or tell me how much you love or hate the idea down there OOPSIE DOOPSIE MOMENT REPORT: the 4th poll option in question 2 reads 25-20%. it SHOULD read 15-20% apologies
  2. Happy new year frens drinking a fine port atm. I encourage Everyone to take advantage of the opportunity to reflect on the successes and failures of the past year, and to plan for the year ahead. we’re all gonna make it
  3. I miss windago everyday... The day windago stopped being viable, a little piece of me died. that was the beginning of the end for me. #WindagoLivesMatter also, yah, I was first to do bunker + grim cobra. till then they used to give a grim cobra at epic level every week and nobody wanted it, so I thought Id try make it work. that was some hot shit for a minute there. this was pre-burning shower so it really fricked heat mech's sheett up. oh, the good old days... EDIT: censored swears since apparently this version of the forum shadow bans your posts if you use bad words...
  4. don't feel bad, guys like us just can't compete with hot studs like Gorgon and Alex.
  5. He’s checking his list, my dudes.
  6. WHAT only pic I saw of you, you had super cool shades, but no beard (???) poast beard or gtfo
  7. Another nerf valiant thread is a good way to kick off the new forum I suppose. said it before, will probably say it again: valiant isn’t even the most powerful energy weapon anymore let alone Among the most powerful weaponS in the game. get to the point where 2+ phys isn’t a prerequisite for top 50 then we can talk about energy. edit: if anything, it should be buffed.
  8. False also wouldnt this game make more sense if you said something about yourself and the next person had to guess if its true or not? anyway, next poster has an unspoken resentment for one or more of their female relatives, and also works in Asda part-time somewhere in the Greater North-East area of Manchestershire.
  9. I am of the belief such things are best settled early, to avoid any locking of horns (no pun intended). Voting will be anonymous (I think), but I think it would be more fun if everyone posted who they voted for and defended their case. voting Gorgon for the beard, personally.
  10. Perhaps at your level, but at rank 5 and above, energy and heat are an entire league behind physical. if we made all items require even a small amount of energy, Energy would overcome heat, and heat would be destroyed. but physical would continue to dominate. the problem lies with Physical items which require too little cost, costs which were reasonable before the arena stat buffs, and before the new OP modules, but are now outdated. so you're right when it comes to physicals, but in the case of heat, it would be an execution.
  11. I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.
  12. thread could be alternatively titled "How To Leave Heat Mechs Dead In The Water". I'll explain this. How energy and heat functions practically is a currency. in the energy type, you are spending energy to reduce the enemy's bank of energy. The goal is not simply to leave them with no energy to spend on their damage outputs (in those which require it), but also once they go "bust" you will increase your Hitpoint damage by the drain (Im not sure if you know this already since you're new, I thought I'd explain that). High drain items don't actually produce a lot of electric damage, so if you fail to bankrupt the enemy of energy you won't actually do much hitpoint damage. when energy encounters heat, most heats will be focusing on explosive damage not heat damage. This means they don't reserve much energy, so energy are instantly in a position to combine energy and electrical damage by turn 2. however, the trade-off is that for explosive oriented heats, there is no energy currency requirewd to keey firing. this is the fundamental difference between energy vs physical, and energy vs heat. the mission of an energy against a physical is to drain them so they have no currency to use on physical weapons or their drones (though phys do have some weapons to use once drained). with heat, it is to exploit the combination of electric and energy damage to ahcieve a higher damage output than the heat can keep up with. when a heat fights an energy, it has two ways to prevent the energy's higher damage output from overhwelming them 1) turn loss due to overheating, IE making the energy's "heat bank" go bust. one turn once an energy has drained your heat can mean 300-500 damage saved 2) higher HP (a larger Hitpoint bank) which is gained through being able to Ignore energy stats if you were to make explosive damage based weaponry require even 5 energy, even 1 energy this whole system collapses for heat. you no longer have the ability to induce turn loss, because you cant fire. and if you dedicate more to energy modules you lose your HP bank. so then youre in the situation of the physical. Yet, when you come into contact against physicals you will be torn apart. the explosive based heat cannot survive without a large HP bank. When a heat comes against a physical, unless you are a dedicated heat damage rather than explosive damage, it is extremely easy for a physical to have enough heat to maintain an equal or higher damage output. if you can't match the HP, you're dead in the water. and for heats, your HP comes from plates. magma mechs can't be put on claws both because of weight and practical considerations. if they had to use energy modules, they're gone. HOWEVER I agree that physical mechs energy usage is far too low. the fact that a physical can viably ignore energy these days is a huge problem. they have the highest damage output of any type, because by nature they are always fusing their elemental and their natural damage output. while energy is divided between energy (elemental) and electric (natural) damage and must drain before these are combined. Heat is by nature divided between heat (elecmental) and explosive (natural) damage, and fucntions only when it can use its elemental to deny the opponent turns or by packing on enough explosive to overcome the divide. Physical is by nature united from turn one. it has no elemental damage, instead it has higher resistance drain and the highest base natural damage of any type. Nowadays, its is too easy for a physical to bank both enough heat and enough energy to efectively maintain constant fire without any fear of a shutdown, or a drain. These 4k hp physicals are a testament to everything which went wrong. the solution is not to require an energy cost for heat, but to impose it once again on physical.
  13. That poll is a total clusterfuck, but, yes. Physical needs to be nerfed. I used to play phys, but now I'd feel cheap using it. so many just scootin aboot on their wee claws clicking away on their frantic brutes, or jumping around with 4k+ hp and drones that hit like spartan carnages. #NewReloadWhen #TooBrokenToFix
  14. True, but that's okay I shaved my head, and I'm not sad. Next Poster will know what song I'm referencing
  15. I am Jack's smirking revenge.
  16. so much this. in arena, its all about winning the battles, and don't give in to the temptation to lose. never lose, not even once. its a slippery slope. few understand this.
  17. >rarest epics ??? I must have fused away 100 of each lmao you really have trouble copping a nightfall in 2020?
  18. you fool, I had already answered that one. this is a prime example of the chaotic actions of next poster previously mentioned.
  19. False, pizza does not belong on a pinnapple. Next poster gets a sick sense of satisfaction in small acts of chaotic enactment, such as switching the toilet paper around in other people's homes so it comes out of the back instead, and rearranging the lettering in signs such that it produces rude words. this person's apetite is thus while fulfilled in such acts of petty rebellion. yet, their apetite grows from day to day. when once, ringing a neighbour's doorbell and fleeing before being seen would satisfy, now, the next poster must spraypaint obscenities, or say slurs online to quench that same thirst. the next poster's fascinations grow bolder and more ambitious, with each little kick, each little flurry of excitement. tomorrow... well, just what tomorrow? the next poster is a highly dangerous individual, and must reverse course should they stand any chance at sanity. for the sake of themselves and others. go, on, admit it, next poster. bet you won't. but you know it's true. you know. and, I know.
  20. Hey, Maxx. long time no see bud.
