I don't think you're insulting me at all.

I would say you're right about energy-free weapons.  But I don't think we should remove them all.  I think we should just limit how many of them there are to specific classes.

This is a thread for another day, but I agree and I would say this should be the list of energy-free items:

    • "Staplers" (reckoning, mercy, bulldog)
    • "Foggers" (all single-shot resistance drainers)
    • Any single-shot item that is already energy-free can remain energy free.
    • "Top rockets" (distance shredder, party crasher, space invader)

That way, in my opinion, the META isn't harmed too much.

I think all other itemss should have at least a small energy cost (even if it's only 5).

But like I said, this is a conversation for another day.

But also, I think it's possible that if energy is buffed just the right amount, energy-free won't be so much of an advantage that energy-free configs can just ignore energy mechs while sawing them in half.

distance shredder should b nerfed tho

not space invader or party crasher, those are fine

its very light, has no energy cost, deals high damage for a phys weapon, and has 2 uses.

I've been thinking about the idea and well... Ultrabright is already better than Dawnblaze and shouldn't really be buffed.

Before you think I'm just here to insult you, you have to consider that energy weapons have an edge of "damage stacking" over heat weapons. Dawnblaze may have 9 resist drain and higher damage output, but Ultrabright can increase its damage by that 116 drain when against a drained opponent, making it hit up to 444 damage, which is more than something that Dawnblaze can do without the help of armor breakers.

But if I were to suggest something to help energy, it would be the removal of energy-free physical items. Why? It's because physical is the main center in between energy and heat, where items require energy and generate heat when used. However, energy-free physical items like Distance Shredder and Rock Polisher have ruined this idea by bringing us a META where physical builds can negate energy use requirements and still shred their opposition.

Yes, physical does have energy-free weapons like Mercy and Annihilation but they're held back by their heavy weight, something that the newer energy-free physical weapons lack.

If that doesn't appeal to everyone, I would also suggest lowering the effectiveness of dual modules because come on... These new METAs are literally orbiting these new modules and are completely dependent on Fortresses and Quad Core Boosters to protect them from boilers and drainers alike. In my opinion, I just don't think it's right to shut boilers and drainers out while giving damage builds the right to reign.

Otherwise, what's the point of being able to use weapons like Corrupt Light or Hysteria if they're just gonna be shunted by builds with 300+ cooling and regen?

I disagree with not making distance shredder and other energy free series energy costing, it would kill the only chance people have at making a decent soft counter drainer. However making them much heavier would limit their effectiveness

I'm going to say this as someone who never played Legacy.

I played Air Mechs for a while and the healing helicopter was my favorite.  I think it's a CV-22 look-alike.  I worked on the CV-22 for a while, so you can imagine why I liked it.

At my rank 9 (more or less) level, I'm going to say the healing pads in the game (100 hp) can make or break matches.  Therefore, I can't agree with those who say a 150 hp healing drone won't make a difference.  I would say the real way to know for sure is to test it in-game, but ultimately I think it would be a good idea.

it would be a damn horrible idea. Healing drones would affect battles, but then everyone with a healing drone would zoom up mid ranks, where clutches are everything, since matchmaking is like putting all your money onto a wheel and hoping you hit the jackpot.

Right, dumbass question time.  If you have the desktop app, and you download the phone app, can you play on phone with the same account as on the desktop - so same login details etc.?  If yes, I reckon I'll have a go at that.

    I don't have a phone ;-;

Desktop version eats my cpu and memory and causes my comp to crash at least once a day 😕

This would be expected this season

    Its 3v3
Many people are smurfing down to rank 6-8 to avoid going to 3v3
The usual rank 6-8 are getting beaten up and then they fall back down to 9-11

I just got faced with a top ranker, almost won, his dual deso overheated like 5 more then I could boil him

I would go with this idea as well.

    Or

Simply have a store that is available all the time with ONLY Legendary items for sale, for tokens only. The pricing would have to be a bit on the high side, say 1500 per item so that it will help those that are F2P and have some pretty good gear but are only missing a few items here and there and would also cost the P2P players heavily too.  Also, to keep the abuse down, the store opens up only after level 100.

Edit: One more item to mention is to create a limit of say a player can only "purchase" 3 or 5 of these items.  Again, the idea is to give the chance to get an item that will complete your mech build out.  Putting a limit on the number of these items will also help reduce abuse.

The only reason something like this is being suggested is because Legendary items are already extremely difficult to get, their drop rates are horrible and when sales come along for premium packs, it is such a huge gamble with very little return and a great deal of frustration.  As a F2P player, I hoard my Tokens for those times when super deals come along.  But, like the recent premium box sale, I dropped my 1000 tokens and received absolutely nothing of worth back and the feeling of all that hard work, wasted away.  That sort of feeling does not help retain me as a player, or anyone else for that matter.  I put my time in and built my mechs up pretty good, but there are just these few little things that I would like to have that are hard to come by that would make my mech perfect for the goal I set them up for.

I hope this makes sense and I hope this could possibly go through.  It is not only a money making opportunity for Grato, but also a great opportunity to create happiness amongst the player base and help with player retention.

    Knarf

Makes sense, but push the bar higher to level 150. Also, you could have a "exchange system" where you insert one item into a system and you can browse through a wide selection of that kind of item. For example, if you inserted a max epic iron plating, you could take, say, a maxed out armor breaker r-e phys version. You could only take items with the same level and type (c-m for a c-m, e-l for an e-l) to minimize abuse. Similar to your idea but nearly impossible to abuse, unless you slotted in smth like an advanced repulsor for a bunker 😕

  7. (why am I writing this here, I can write this on the wiki myself lol)

Newbies should concentrate on maxing whatever they use most. They should aim for 1 type, but can make a semi-hybrid if necessary. I'm not saying MAX STUFF THAT CAN'T GO TO MYTH I'm saying max whatever you use most. I'm saying collateral efficiency, and not just concentrating on the future.

    thats sad rip

but it happens, there's nothing much the devs can do...

I think premium packs are the better value for tokens. I always assumed drop rates were the same?

congrats on the new items as well! That’s a great score.

they are, but I get 1 legend every 2-3 weeks in fortunes and 1-2 legends every time I buy a pack, which is once every 2-4 weeks.

so packs are slightly worse in my opinion, although most of yall will disagree

I'm currently working on both the issues being presented and am going to bring a couple mods on in the near future. As far as the cheating thing goes if any of us catch it it'd be a bannable offense. Thanks for bringing that up.

Hopefully once I work out the problems we can get the sub featured somewhere. First thing is building a mod team

    Hi geno!

There's already been multiple cheaters flexing their bans on reddit, just saying

    Is this sarcastic?

The few times I've checked the reddit, it always seemed a friendly, positive endeavour. A little bit more accepting of cheaters than I'd like (soft moderation is the main reason we're not featuring it right now), but overall people seem pretty friendly and happy there.

No this is not sarcastic, the head mod himself said smth about mod abuse and Sawz was removing messages for having an opposite opinion to his/hers.
