I am using Malice + Hysteria.  I personally like it only because I like having long range options in case someone with push weapons sends me to the opposite wall.

But I've seen CleverName fight someone with dual malice beam at rank 1, and I've been thinking about going dual malice beam for a while.  I guess it depends on the build.  But Malice Beam drains more than Hysteria does, so dual malice beam might have an advantage.
