  1. Backfire goldmines. Really bad idea.
  2. They don't have much heat capacity or cooling. The boss in particular you can shut down straightaway with a heat bomb. I have been autofarming it on hard with a heat mech since I was rank 14. Just make sure you have decent cap and cooling yourself.
  3. I like the Massive Feet of every type. Good HP, they do resist drain as well as decent damage, and they add resist too. Plus you can use jumping weapons. What's not to like, I say. But the wheels do give more ability to move around. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.
  4. Oh Super Mechs I love you You know I always will But when I get all purple poops In a premium pack, I feel quite ill.
  5. Flying hammer every time. Particularly good from 8 places away.
  6. Trouble with "half-free" energy is that unless you go very large on modules for energy, you are very vulnerable to EMP to take your energy-dependent weapons out, and suddenly you find that your Nightfall or whatever is dead weight. Or you have focused so heavily on having enough energy that you're vulnerable to heat. Maybe if you have a full rack of premium dual mods, it works. But if you don't, and until you can save enough tokens or spend enough cash to get that full rack, there are weapons which are useful, even if in a niche role.
  7. Yes - the BP is worth the backfire overall, as long as your mech has decent HP.
  8. Just on Purifier, I'd say it has a niche use (although a buff would be nice) in a no-en build because it's fairly light and energy-free and covers a spot that isn't (in my experience anyway) easy to get en-free weapons for.
  9. I got nothing but purple poops, no relics, from my last two Rank 5 boxes before today. It's just RNG.
  10. As the owner of a maxed Purifier, I say yeah! Buff that sucker to the moon and back.
  11. Aah, right. I thought it might have been like the pumpkin perk, but with a scaly lizard effect.
  12. OD8 on hard is what I farm. Good balance of gold, XP and rate of fortune boxes.
  13. Lizard torsos? Now that sounds cool.
  14. Tempting, but my luck with the drops from the premium packs is always terrible, so I'll wait for one of the guaranteed premium mods offers.
  15. Maxed out the oof-meter. But you'll get that item again. Meanwhile, you can make do with some Dynamite Boots or Devouring Paws.
  16. Windigo will be cheaper/easier to get to Mythical and Divine. I'd go Windigo for now, and look at MPV for a heat mech in due course. Also Windigo looks grooveh.
  17. Anyway. Returning to the question actually asked by the OP, the answer is of course that that if what you have to choose between is a Face Shocker and a Heat Point, you go Face Shocker if your build is an energy build, and Heat Point if it's a heat build. If it's a physical build, you should go with whichever does more damage until you get a Tonto or something like that (I'm assuming you're fairly new and haven't built much inventory yet). But IMHO there are plenty of better drones out there - I just don't like the limited uses thing with a drone, unless it gives so much more of everything that the limited use s feature is outweighed - and neither of those drones does, for me.
  18. Max the Nightmare all the way to Divine. You won't regret it. Stick a Windigo in one of your other mechs, a Naga in the third. Then when you get MPV and the like you can upgrade eventually. But a heat mech with maxed Nightmare and Massive Lava Feet is a good base.
  19. I'm playing on desktop right now - seems fine.
  20. Agree to keep the Archimonde just in case (I have one sitting lonely and unloved in case it gets a buff and becomes worthy of something more than a sneer), but disagree on Nightmare. Since the buff, it's pretty good if you Divine it (easy because it's common relics). I'm in higher ranks right now with Nightmare in the lead mech.
  21. I'm making top ranks every week with a Nightmare in my lead mech (admittedly while I boost the MPV to max). Thing with the Nightmare is the weight advantage. It's a good torso when taken to Divine.
  22. Totally. I run one factory on ordinary commons (super cheap since the price got reduced) and one on power kits, and when I collect, they deliver the items in kind-of silver boxes, which give an extra item at rare or epic for each box (they drop at 15 a box or thereabouts) for the price of watching "Hi. I'm Smokey Cold Bear" for the zillionth time. I've had plenty of epics that way, and many more from fortune boxes from OD8 on hard. I get every E-M going, often multiple times, although I mostly use them for upgrading food. I wouldn't touch the silver box option with a bargepole.
