  1. Actually, a coward, per the Oxford dictionary, is "a person who lacks the courage to do or endure dangerous or unpleasant things." Not everyone who quits on their last turn is a coward, some do this specifically because they know they're going to lose and they want to save time and go to the next match. What you described is more what a jerk would do.
  2. Good deal, I just don't have tokens saved up yet.
  3. One way is farming. Many of my premium items came from campaign fortune boxes and regular fortune boxes, as well as log-in boxes.
  4. I think we went over this at one point, and for now I think they don't port it to Steam yet because the costs would outweigh the benefits.
  5. I don't like slander or insults. So I can agree with the post, to a point. But that's also how all of social media is now, unfortunately.
  6. Mid-ranks stuff. Yes, hold on to that Nightmare. My only concern was that I've seen low and mid rank players all the time with a max Nightmare but no resistance, sucky stats, etc. I know that's fine, and normal, because it's low/mid ranks. But honestly, if you don't have premium resistance of any kind (like many low/mid rank players), it's better to have a monkey torso. If you don't have resistance, at least have tons of HP. Monkey torsos still get up towards R3 as well, or at least R5. Your best options are still LPV/MPV for top ranks if you have at least a defense matrix (I've made R1 with a defense matrix and MPV). Better yet, 3 x fortress with LPV/MPV. Those who successfully play Nightmare in top ranks have lots of combined modules, fortresses, and platinums. I know @Marija uses it in top ranks, and I know @Lord Gorgon has also. But they have the premium modules to do so In some ways, LPV/MPV and Nightmare are "interchangeable" in that some builds have better stats with Nightmare and an additional platinum than with MPV/LPV and one less platinum. But this is just how SM is, as a game. Have lots of options. Have a deep inventory. It makes more builds possible. I still hold on to one monkey torso of each kind in my accounts.
  7. And that is why you are ignored now. The OP would do good to do the same. Savagery is range 4-8. Scopes won't protect you from that weapon if your cooling sucks. Eventually people at your rank have enough HP to survive the scope, but if you didn't fix your modules, they'll still overheat you. Dude is rank 20, that's probably one of the first things they need to do is get modules.
  8. Create: make something, usually new. How is building a meta mech bragging rights? What's your IGN? That won't help if his modules are still not good or non-existent.
  9. I can't speak for Gato Games, but I'm fairly certain their servers exist only in one place. I don't think they have multi-nation servers. Maybe I'm wrong, but I saw people trying to VPN when SM went down, and it didn't do anything for them. If it was about which country the servers were in, the VPNs would've been successful, but it didn't do anything.
  10. Have good cooling. Dual savagery builds do not make it into top ranks. You need at least 625 cap and 325 cooling on all your builds. Indeed, maybe even 350+ cooling. Savagery is range 4. Pull it closer, out of range, if you can. Or drain their energy. Dual savagery builds are a lot like dual desolation builds: unless you have the right premiums, they're garbage. And depending on recoilers is, in my opinion, not a good idea. What mech builds are you using? Also, if you tell me your modules are still legendary, that's your #1 problem. Upgrade them to mythical. You might need a padawan clan to help you learn and grow. I have one: N0ble Padawans. Please don't abuse the newbies. Don't. Also, don't think you made a META, and I don't care either. Who the heck are you? I'd know you by now if you created some sort of new META. With all due respect, you're essentially trying to be the captain of a dingey. With all due respect, this is not good advice because you didn't explain enough. IF Nightmare is the ONLY torso he can get, ok, that's one thing. But low/mid rank players do NOT have enough fortresses, platinums, and combined modules to make this torso super powerful. If he's new and gets a monkey torso of any kind, that would be a much better torso to use. In low/mid ranks, your torsos, from best to worst, are FHA, then REA, then HSA, then (ONLY if you get a defense matrix) MPV/LPV. If not, Windigo and Nightmare would be your 4th/5th torso, with Naga as 6th.
  11. It doesn't provide enough to be useful in the arena on monkey torsos. I've tested this one extensively. You need at least about 70 resistance in every category before it gets to a useful point, if you trade resistance for HP. That's why monkey torsos dominate low and mid ranks: most low and mid rank players don't have defense matrix or 3 x fortresses. And that post was like from 2020. I'm now a rank 2 player. Those who have 3 x monkey torsos in low/mid ranks should just max them and hold on to them, don't bother with resistance yet unless you get some good ones. For a mech with a MPV/LPV vest to make it into top ranks, they'll usually need at least a defense matrix, or a max protector + a platinum. That's why monkey torsos work so well in mid ranks. If you have no resistance, go to the max with your HP. But you still see monkey torsos in top ranks on good builds, so .... For low/mid rank players, Nightmare also isn't so good. It's light weight, but low/mid rank players don't usually have tons of combined modules, fortresses and platinums to make Nightmare a pay-off. It's always useful in RAID, however.
  12. This would be interesting! I'd also like to see a crab titan one day, whose claws are Big Daddys.
  13. The error rate is likely +/- 1% so I didn't feel the need, but the Google Sheet link has all the raw data.
  14. Well, no, I meant that I wanted to know how much fuel/tokens to spend to get something. Yesterday I ran 6 loads of fuel on that thing and got only one legendary (a Hurlbat).
  15. All, Thanks to the help of the research team, people like @Rambo @Knae gae ear Nena, @Sushi @renkobyasi @Diablooder and others who aren't even on this forum, we have completed FB chance analysis of all the 1V1 campaign boss levels. Not surprisingly, Big Boy (final boss) has the highest FB return rate. We are now moving on to study all the 2V2 campaign boss levels. This chart should help you figure out which levels might be the best for you to farm in the campaign. (Example: you're new but somehow you got a heat fortress early in the game but you can't farm Overlord's Den yet; you could farm Scavenger pass, Frozen Abyss or Dry Lands possibly.) 16. The results that are coming in are very different. Some have gotten 3 legendaries in 3 refills. However, some people have gotten nothing in 3 refills. It's up to you.
  17. How much fuel is the question.
  18. I've had bad internet kick me off. Trust me, it happens.
  19. Yeah, just keep playing the game. Maybe farm arena missions with high fortune box rates like 1V1 Big Boy (on insane if you can). Similar how?
  20. People can just close the app. You'd end up penalizing people whose internet sucks and/or had to shut off their phone for school or for their parents.
  21. So far, when I ran a study on matchmaking, it seems to try to match you with someone who is close to your rank, maybe 1 star above you. I don't think match making is the problem. I like your idea though! I think the dropping ranks thing is the problem. I proposed a rank 10 limit (sort of like rank 5) so that those who want to smurf would need to wait 1-2 seasons to do so (i.e. if you're rank 5 and you want to smurf, you'd need to fall below 5 at the first season reset, then fall some more and wait at 10 for the next season reset). Though some people on the former mod team endorsed the idea, others didn't. I can see what you're saying about a rating system, but that rating system seems, to me, to be based on the clan war defense team you built, not on your actual inventory. I would say instead (see my other thread I accidentally started) that it should be based on your total inventory. Most players who have 45 myths or more should be at least rank 10. Therefore I think if you have 45 myths or more (or a different number, we can decide that later) it shouldn't let you go below rank 10. That way if you try to smurf, it should be PAINFUL to do so, i.e. you'd have to food myths. Could people still smurf with 44 (or whatever number we decide, minus 1) myths? Sure. But they would be sacrificing their ability to ever get into top ranks, so that should harm them. Again, the number can be something other than 45, but I'm just saying there are other ways to run this game logic. It would require, however, code to be added to the game for this. I don't know if Alex is interested in doing that.
  22. An idea I just had for fixing smurfs: maybe going by their inventory would be the best way to prevent smurfs. So if they have, for example, 3 max vests, 3 maxed massive type legs, etc. if they have a certain # items and such, they should not be allowed to go below rank 10. It may not be a perfect way to prevent smurfs, but it would mean that smurfing would be way harder. To smurf, you'd almost have to food all kinds of your myth items to convince the game you're not a smurf. I don't know if this would work, so it's an idea I haven't had time to think about, but it's an idea. What does everyone think? It would have to be configured in the game a certain way, so it might take time to set it up, but I would think it should work. Maybe if you have 45 myth items, it should not let you fall below 10? Note, it doesn't have to be 45 items, we can decide what # items it should be.
  23. I agree with you. There are two ways to improve at SM (other than the things you can just learn on here). Cash and time. I played the cash game for a while. I was able to get rank 2/1. Now I could care less. Long term players have more weapons at their disposal, you're right. In some ways this results in pressure to be in a top clan, any top clan, even a toxic one. I think this should be fixed in some way so that clans are more about the participation and teamwork than just being in them. In some ways, this game already does a pretty good job with that, but it could use some slight improvements. Clan rewards should be set up in a way that teamwork, not just how well you can do (which is based on rank and your items) should be rewarded. Not participation trophies, but more that clans who have the most active members (in the game and in clan wars) should get slightly better odds on clan war rewards. Thus you could encourage teamwork by configuring the clan wars so that fighting in clan wars (not just clicking to sign up) results in higher drop rates. Some clans seem to be full of "lead sleds", i.e. people with 3K+ HP claw butt nuggets who don't seem to attack. Those should get lower drop rates when they don't fight or, for example, have maybe half their people actually fighting in clan wars, versus the clan full of rank 10 people who all fight in the clan wars should get higher drop rates. I think events and other things will keep the game alive. I am thankful for the GOAT tournaments and portals. I can see the game player traffic increase on these days, so it must be working to a point. Good deals also do this. However, top 3 players are almost always boosted. If you see Lord Gorgon in top 3, I am confident he doesn't boost. So your dreams of becoming top 1-3 are mostly never going to happen without TWO accounts that are elite. Or access to an account that is elite. Some clans have such accounts at their disposal, but mostly it's the top 10 or so. I can't speak for you, OKI DOKI, but for me, the only things that are fun right now are clan wars, RAID, and sometimes research. I don't make content just to make content, and I'm not some YTer either, though I have recorded YT videos. Dreaming of being a famous SM YTer is a joke, don't waste your life. To me, RAID is fun because it's a puzzle. Clan wars are fun because they are a puzzle, sort of. Clan interaction among my team mates is what makes it fun. Hanging out. Research is ok but that's just because I'm a Sheldon Cooper type: I like to know stuff. I think there are some important things that can be done in SM that would make the game 1) more fun for newbies (such as trying to find a way to detect smurfs, etc.) and 2) more fun for those who have been playing a long time (portals, events, etc.). I also think boosting needs to be handled and/or ended because it takes the hopes and dreams of people who want to legitimately earn #1 player and poops on them. This is from MANY interviews with players in my own clan and in other clans: many give up once they learn the truth. I don't go around telling them, but if people ask, I explain. I am glad the farming aspect of the campaigns still exists. That lets me farm in the background while I do important school things and such. But the game will eventually need an update. And to be fair, there's very few games (if any) that can keep people interested forever. People change, their desires change, and they find new/different games. That's not GG's fault, that's just human behavior. But I think the game needs to reward longevity in some ways. The recent physical fortress deal was, I think, Alex listening to us. So I'm going to say it now: if you think Alex doesn't listen, you're wrong (and also you're probably dumb). Don't equate Alex not doing what YOU want with him not listening. But changes will eventually need to be made. I'm glad I can recommend this game to my family members because the chat is more or less censored, it's not a bad game, etc. But no game lives forever.
