in-game forgotten password button doesn't quite work

trying to re-log in after a entire year, and of course. i don't remember the original password or how exactly the username is composed, just now made this account on the forums to ask this query. i'm certain of the email i use. so i have something i assume of use to recover it. but if anyone has an idea of how i go about getting said account back (it wasn't that far into the game so losing it is like 20 hours of work) but it'd be nice if i could regain it.

this is what the "forgot password" button does on the game launcher. hoping for the best. and thanks to anyone who reads this.
