im thinking of making an energy build with some spare parts i had

If you opt for a long range build, remove the Ash creator and put evac spark instead and favor heat, electric and resist modules 

Energy mech can be played with a low Hp, hight resist and high capacity and energy regeneration / cooling

Looks good for a lower rank energy mech but as you progress you should specialize on a specific range either close, mid or long.
