  1. I just had a Bunker Shell drop from a fortune box, and after thinking "woo hoo", started to wonder whether to max it for use.  What are the views on Bunker Shell - is it one of those that can really change a battle in your favour even though it's only one use?

  2. I'd say save up for the premium packs, as they're better value.  Another thing to do is grind through the campaign until you get to a point where you can't progress any further, and then farm the last boss level that you could beat reliably, as that gives a chance of fortune boxes in the rewards, and if your luck is good, you can get good items in a fortune box.

  3. (1) Set up the base as prompted by the game, and look to upgrade the HQ little by little, and as you do that and are able to build gold mines, do so, and upgrade them bit by bit too.  Build on factory to start and craft common items in it (that's the basic level, no upgrade). This will help you with getting enough gold to do more upgrades, and to upgrade your items, and  eventually you'll be able to get better items  too.

    (2) Pay attention with the items you get when starting out - look to see what maximum level they are (the coloured circles on the information panel when you click on the item in Workshop).  If they won't go beyond epic or legendary (purple or yellow), don't bother trying to upgrade them to their max, as the chances are that you'll get an item you can upgraded further (and therefore will be better) before you've maxed the less good one.  Example - for torsos, if you get a Nightmare, stick with it and upgrade it - don't bother with an Ettin or similar, or even a Banshee, as you'll be able to take the Nightmare all the way up to Divine.

  4. What would be really cool (and probably impossible, but we can dream) is for the offers to give the choice of Arena coins or inventory spaces.  So maxed-out long-term dudes can have more inventory space to do with whatever a maxed-out long-term dude does, and everyone else can have Arena coins to improve their buffs.

I like al the variables you can play with in building mechs.

I love how time equals progress. All the small play times add up over years. This is a rare feature in games or so I think SM is the only game I play 😀

Kinda sums it up for me as well.  I've been playing for maybe 16 months, but my first account died with Kong, so really about a year for my main account now.

  6. My first proper max was Windigo - I was low level myth on it and suddenly it had more of everything.  Couldn't work it out until I read on here that it had been buffed.  Nice bit of luck that was.  I also nearly ditched my Swoop roughly the same time until a classy opponent in Arena told me I should max my drone because it was now Meta.  Can't remember who that was, but that was a nice touch.

  7. Can anyone confirm exactly how the starting rank you get on start of a new season is calculated?  Is a certain amount of steps back from where you were at the end of the previous season, or a certain amount of steps back from the highest you managed in the previous season, or what?

It's not at all important - just curious to know.

I would just advise Alex to make beginner account not have BASE. Once they reach lvl 100, then they have the option to enable it or not. Give an explanation of what it is at lvl 90, where a message will pop up at that lvl saying, "You are Close to reaching lvl 100, where you will have an option to switch your account to base." Then have a little explanation of what it is.  Once switch, can't go back .  That would take a load off their back.  Yet, no one takes my advise serious.

Frankly, I'd advise Alex to make it impossible to disable the base so we get freed of these eejits who clog the forum with their whingeing.

what is the best way to get legendarys need them to mythic my lightning vest

You can make your own by taking an epic that goes up to legendary and upgrading it.  Needs five epics (one to upgrade, four for the transform from epic to legendary) and a bit of work, but if you have Base with a factory at level 15 so you can farm power kits, that works well.  Fortune boxes etc. are just a bonus IHMO.

I don't see any advantage of this, if opponent can see your stats like HP, resistance etc. - what information can get opponent from torso you use against him?

I guess it's when they're deciding which mechs to go with on a 2 v. 2 and they can't see your stats yet, and can't see your torso with a pumpkin stuck over it?
