Go with Supreme Cannon and savagery to have better range options. Now, Supreme is heavier in the negative aspect and provide better damage and attack range. It is more explosive weapon instead of overheating weapon and work very nice even against top rankers with proper set up. It is not a waste to develop one in particular at early stages during development. Savagery helps better to overheat mechs but range will be more restricted unable to use at closer attacks.
