swaping campaign spawn place

can anyone tell me how people manage to change where they spawn against bosses in campaign lets say in the centere tile and then the edge or something like that

it's random every time, they rejoin the fight until they get the desired starting position

You can’t change where you spawn, wherever your battlemech shoots (or just walks in) themself in, that’s where you spawn. 

the only time your spawn is changed is if it’s a bug whereas the visuals are broken and you spawn on the right

Edit: stefix’s answer answered the question. You meant the enemy spawns in-battle

are you talking about when you first load in the campaign level or each time you face the enemy because thats the one im talking about
