I will say that those 3 are best around as no premium part. All of them can be used for high rank depending on configurations.

Energy weapon Ok. Top weapon under development can be use but all require logic for and of course you are starting so normally everything can be used to move on.
You need modules to support weapons and shields with 8 spaces to fill up according to availability and weight. You are starting so the parts normally will be basic and will need to invest on them for now.
You will need a drone at disposition even if is not the proper because starting and some modules to help
You have to grind a lot to get parts and gold.
Pay attention to the daily offer that some come with tokens and fuel.
Play 5 wins every day to collect silver coins to enhance arena shop. You get them with offers but the basic it is 5 wins.
Play 3 wins in arena to collect token, fuel, coins and gold.
Play campaign for gold and parts as much you can.
Pay attention to the part stats.
You can ask more questions. Do not be general but show your entire account so they can help better.

Sadly, I have retired multiple times and slowed down. Daily it is played few times a week and sometimes none in a week.
I remember one guy posted long ago had like tons of them and I was working in my arena enhancement eating all. Maybe that player can have a hell a lot more.

Native developers from the game were hired but one or two quitted. The programming itis old stuff. It is hard to get a new programmer and deal with it and will take time for it. It is hard to have control over a person unless money talk and people sometimes get tired to work in one place.
Easy to say to do changes but hard to make it possible with few resources around.

Well..
1- Buying offers or premium packs
2- Playing 2v2 Hard OD8 for fortune boxes luck if any
3- Playing TITAN for clan coins and can get some boxes there but need to be in a decent team or else as solo to play every week.
4- Portals
5- The BASE but require eternal farming everyday at least 3-4 full times. That also will need to use well the daily offers like fuel days, gold days like today and extras to make it possible and to get an average. Play no less than 5 wins per day to collect that extra gold on those 5 wins.
