They also give a huge amount of tokens, as well as fortune boxes with a guaranteed legendary item. 

This is actually a very good event that needs to be increased.

Gold portals only give large amounts of gold 

Regular portals give toke s and legendary

Just because a portal is called "gold" doesn't mean it gives a lot of gold. Any experienced player should know that it is called that, because it provides a lot of useful resources.
