Ozen reacted to Marija for a blog entry, Anti-Cheat Update - 02-10-2021
    Hi Pilots,
Since purchasing Super Mechs we’ve steadily improved the game, a lot of this is a bit boring (like solving some cheats, improving stability, improving base, deals and balance…) but recently we tackled a particular cheat that has been bothering veterans for a long time now.
By abusing SuperMechs’ architecture, a cheat called "Multitabbing" has been becoming an increasing problem. While the cheat in question has been around for years, it has grown more popular and has proven to be very challenging for us to fix. Since it worked through abusing the very core of the game, multiple attempted fixes simply didn’t work, or caused many other issues. To cope with that for the time being, we have been doing banwaves. These however, have been losing a lot of their effect as cheaters grow more adept at quickly growing multiple new accounts.
We are happy to announce that as of roughly 2 weeks ago, we have successfully deployed an anti-cheat update. This update addresses several cheats, including the notorious "Multitabbing" cheat. It does this in a definitive manner and after watching cheaters trying (and failing) to use this and other cheats, we are confident at this point that this solution works completely.
We apologize for not announcing this sooner, we needed cheaters to think nothing had changed simply so that we could monitor their attempts at still using their cheats in the game. Fighting hacking is a long term battle and we had to make sure we really had them this time. We've already done a series of bans targeting the abusers of this cheat and we have more planned still. We are confident the game should already have significantly fewer cheaters now and the remnants should be sent to Brazil as well in the immediate future. You can help by reporting them here.
Please do keep in mind that some players reported just aren't very well known, but quite legit, though. Some cheaters saved up boxes while it still worked, please report these if you see anything suspicious in the drops.
Thanks everyone for sticking with us and helping us by reporting and debugging, in addition our moderator Raul has also been a big help and so has Elcent from our BattleDawn team. Hopefully this makes the game a little better for everyone, please stay tuned to see what we can do now when we don't have to worry about people abusing it to cheat.
    Enjoy playing Super Mechs!

Ozen reacted to Alexander for a blog entry, Clan War Reward Issue - Solved
    Hi Pilots,

We got reports of an issue causing last clan wars' rewards not to send, in addition to duplicating the clan war for another week.
After investigating the issue, we have now deployed a fix. All players should receive their due clan reward now and should be able to join the next clan war. Please report it to us if there's any issues with the current clan war left.
    Thanks for your patience everyone.

Ozen reacted to Alexander for a blog entry, Banwave 05-04-2021
    Hi Pilots,
We've just done another banwave based on hueristical, behavioral player data in addition to reports, with an analysis done on the reported players, top 2000 players and  players with certain suspicious statistics.
We intend to keep improving this analysis and widen the scope as well, in addition to improving the overall system.

As the last time, the goal was cleaning the arena, please report to us any cheater we may have missed via the form. Duplicate reports from different people *do* help.

Got banned? Please check our FAQ on appeals and ban errors. Thank you 🙂

Ozen reacted to Alexander for a blog entry, Report-based Banwave
    Hi Pilots,
We've just done a relatively limited banwave targeting certain cheats based on reports. A few obvious non-reported accounts were caught as well.
Please note we're intending to do another small one if necessary and then a bigger, more thorough one.

The aim here was to remove the accounts currently causing the most grief in the arena, please report to us any cheater we may have missed via the form, we'll get to more unreported ones later. Similarly, duplicate reports by different people with different information are very helpful.

Got banned? Please check our FAQ on appeals and ban errors. Thank you 🙂

We're working on anti cheat fixes in the immediate future and intend to move onto balancing after, in paralel to our current work on the next event schedule. 🙂

Ozen reacted to Alexander for a blog entry, Migrating from Kongregate to SuperMechs.com
    Hi all,

After discussing the Kongregate situation with their director of player relations, we've received permission to transfer certain data (inventories, levels) from Kongregate accounts to new accounts. This is an emergency option for those who are not willing to wait for Kongregate to potentially fix SuperNova.
Please PM us on Kongregate after creating a new SuperMechs account here (*not in game, in game accounts will not be considered under any circumstances*) using Internet Explorer (or other old browsers, modern ones _will not_ work): https://forum.supermechs.com/forum/ucp.php?mode=register
PM us the chosen username and we will proceed with the transfer for you. Please note that there may be bugs or loss of some progress in some cases, we will do our best to make things as smooth as possible. Your SM account on Kongregate will most likely no longer function after this.

    So, again, steps:
Create a new SuperMechs Account using Internet Explorer on the old forums, not via the game PM us on Kongregate with the username of your new supermechs account, ideally with the following form:
Username of your newly created SM Account as made per instruction:
Kongregate PlayerID (if you know it):
Do you agree with the transfer of your player data, regardless of potential losses or risks, bricking your Kongregate SuperMechs account: Yes/No

This can only be done once, the PM must be sent from the Kongregate account that you used to log into SuperMechs.
SuperNova will most likely not work after this, even if it is fixed in the future on Kongregate. This is a destructive action that may only be done once and can never be reversed.

    Thank you everyone.
