Former Meta Builds

CleverName

Recommended Posts

In this topic, I’ll post what I believed to be some of the best of the best OLDER meta/top-tier builds. The point of this topic is to have a place to put all former meta builds, as many of them will be helpful for the vast majority of players (to use as a reference point and something they can build into over time).

META Most Effective Tactics Available (ie. what's the best build in game to help you climb the ladder in arena). Note this isn’t a build help thread. If you need build help, please go there.

If you want to view the current meta builds, please visit it here: Current Meta Builds.

I will maintain this thread for as long as I have the motivation 🙂

Why would you use swoop over firefly or any other heat damage drones though? Swoop is only really meant for boilers and huggers, putting it on damage mechs is kind of pointless because of its low damage, even though you would overheat opponents a lot faster, but you have to sacrifice more weight to put energy modules on.

Swoop is super low weight, spits out 117 heat damage per hit, easily best heat drone in game hands down for almost every single heat build

Note as of today, these are the current meta builds, but I'll "update" this topic going forward. If I have more free time, I can try to add the older metas.

I beleive you are missing many viable builds, such as LG's windigo hugger, Ivar's build and some others.

I literally pulled an MPV from r3 box, and from the other r3 box I opened, I puleld plat fortress, so its holy sry whiteout

This post confirm me you don't need skill/strategy to play this game, you just need good items to compete in higher rank.

I think the LP exploit proved that even with maxed inventories, bad players will still be bad lol

Yes, this is missing any non current meta build atm. When new items come out, I'll keep the old metas in here.

It is Clevername's thread and point of views.

I disagree with most of the heat part of it ("the best heat" for example is quite shet), it wouldnt be relevant for me to clog this thread with my own povs.

I think you missed something:

I appreciate you moving the old META to this thread and for your constant help with the META thread.

I've been wondering something recently.  When people start their stuff with META, it seems like they have an attitude of "I must get every item and have exactly that META mech in order to achieve rank 1."  I know this is probably not realistic, but would you be willing to comment?

I had countered (not the game, but in conversation) this point with pointing out that it's more a philosophy and about the tactics (most effective TACTICS available) than about making an exact copy of those mechs.  Also, that it is more a reflection as to what is top dog in the game.  Would you be willing to comment on whether I'm thinking about the META properly?

From my POV, this game is 90 percent items and builds, and 10 percent in game decisions. Even the garbage AI could destroy my mechs with CleverName's builds. That being said, you do not need an exact replica, but the closer the better obviously.

Yup, I’d agree with that. Majority of players can’t make exact meta builds, but it can be useful as a reference point. Obviously the closer you can replicate a meta build, the likely stronger you’ll be.

Now some meta builds really do need quite a few items in unison, so if someone is missing a good amount of items, meta builds can’t be replicated too easily, hence why I’m making a former meta build thread as that will overtime have a higher variety of builds, some which will be more f2p/smaller inventory friendly.

Thanks.

Here's the desktop wallpaper I made out of the monkey-centric META from last year in case anyone would like to reference it.
