I strongly recommend you replace your bulldog with a lighting recoiler so you get good distance to use your weapons and put extra stuff for your mech.
Can you also show us what drone and modules you have?

You should probably upgrade your Heat and Cooling modules. Because against Heat mechs, they could easily put you in a Shutdown loop.

I guess you can instead use the lighting reciler, yes, and an EMP as well. the bulldog would surely be good for a second energy mech
and I think i don't quite need to tell you but yeah, as soon as you get better modules (mostly heat ones) get them and start upgrading ASAP
( the best way to upgrade at low levels is making a lot of common items in factories )
