Why the claw jumps when use the sword?

This is a question in my mind because if the claw cant move, why the game allows to use the sword when the mech is in range of 2 with the claw if these cant jump

"Can't, this weapon makes you jump, so it means your weapon needs jumping. Your legs can't jump."

"Alright. So I can use my sword only on melee range, yes? Because when my mech and the opponet are 1 space appart, then my mech needs to jump..."

"(Silence) Alright if you can attack melee you can attack with one space appart then."

"But my legs can't jump"

"Let's say they can, but only for that second."

To be honest, even tho it looks very cursed, it makes sense.

I think because these weapons were introduced before new weapons began to appear that required the ability to jump.

possibly, even so that doesn't take away the little trauma from the first time i saw that i thought it was a hacker or something like that
