    There are a few potential problems with this:

    1) You would still need to pay someone to be the CEO/CFO even if everyone bought the game.  For instance, Fender Musical Instruments is also employee-owned and they have an executive team.

    2) You would need players with enough cash to buy out the shares and do this.  I don't think there are enough of these types.

    3) You would need players to understand that buying shares and being part of the employee ownership program DOES NOT MEAN they get tokens or other in-game perks except maybe cosmetics.  Because if everyone comes into it with an entitlement attitude, everyone will just feed off the company until it dies.

    4) You would need to then organize some sort of effort to hire programmers that are trustworthy.  Have fun with that.  Action script (Flash) is basically extinct.

    5) You would need to buy out the company shares first, and then afterwards move the company towards employee ownership.  That's not just going to happen overnight.

    6) You would need to do so before the real owner of the game (hint, not Alex) gets wind of it and folds the company.  We've never met this person: what if he doesn't want to give up SM?

    7) It would need to be an international company.

    8 )  You'd all need to be employees for it to be employee owned.  I think what you mean is player-owned.

    9) You'd need some criteria for who is allowed to player-own shares and their conditions.  For instance, you'd be wise to specify that all those who own shares get to vote on company matters, and you'd also probably want to specify that those who don't vote for 3 consecutive quarters get fired and their shares refunded.

    10) You'd need a vision for where this game is going.  And I'm going to be completely honest with you, where this game needs to go is SM3.  (SM1 being legacy and SM2 being current reloaded.)  And have fun trying to get everyone to agree about where this game is going.  It was difficult enough to get the balance team to agree on anything.

    And no offense, but also given the SM universe "lore" (which there is hardly any), I don't think SM3 should incorporate ANY of the concepts in our current game.  I would say look outside the game for other concept games and use some of their general principles.  I could easily list like 20+ ideas on how to fix SM in terms of the overall gameplay but I don't want to "show my hand" because if I spill my ideas out here, someone could very well just steal them and create SM3 without me.

    Instead, what I would want is this: if someone can give me $1B USD initial investment capital, I can buy out the name and then create a game that will be far more successful and lucrative.  But I would need this initial investment capital in order to get the ball rolling.  And I would also point out that the way I would fix SM would be to completely reinvent the game.

    So my advice (sorry for necro-replying) is to just enjoy it until it folds.  I still recommend the game to parents with kids.  But no game lasts forever, and certainly not SM.  I am not saying SM is dying so much as I am saying SM is not eternal.

I agree.  I wasn't on the "buff Swoop" bandwagon.  I thought it was already great because it was already the best in terms of damage to weight ratio.  This update makes it twice the damage to weight ratio of other drones, so I am not a fan of it.  I am already suggesting it gets nerfed because the buff went too far.

    Yeah and so my point is, because it would probably be labor intensive to find and punish all those, use a "positive reinforcement" where those who are doing what is right (or not doing bad) with their alt get the benefit of transferring items?

    Alt accounts will always exist, that's a given.  I think the game should reward those who use them properly.  If I had one, think of it this way: instead of $5/month subscription for one account, it would be 2 subscriptions to $10/month.

    And my alt account would be interesting builds like energy free and such.

    The problem isn't alt accounts, it's those who use them wrong.

    I agree with new soundtrack.  If anything, Gato should reach out to some artists and see about including their songs for free, provided there is a display somewhere of what artist and track (think text only, and small).

    I agree with new weapon sounds. They sound like the old flash mechs game.  I think the Nightfall should sound like the M61 Vulcan from the F-16 and the Annihilation sound like the GAU-8/A from the A-10.

    But oh well.

    After this update, there are several torsos that are slightly better than Hollow Spectral Armor.  Honestly, given the philosophy of the physical version of things usually having more hit points because it has less of the other stats, I'd say Hollow Spectral Armor needs to be buffed.  The other torsos are just fine where they are, at least in my opinion (but feel free to disagree).

    No, I totally get it.  I just don't think UPC needs to be nerfed because someone doesn't appreciate being hit with it.

    I've faced a UPC wielder at my level.  The UPC rips through your energy capacity like a hot knife through butter.

    And given the presence of energy free armor in meta, with all due respect you are incorrect. EFA is the best non-monkey right now. I've got one and I'm upgrading it: an energy free mech is in my future.

    Now that frantic brute has been nerfed, with all due respect I think the weapons are fine. I don't think any more nerfing or buffing is required.

  9. Thank you @Alexander for the honorable mention.  I am humbled to have (hopefully) been a blessing to the game and the forum.  If I can ever be of service, please let me know.  Now that I have an energy-free armor, I won't constantly whine about not having a third monkey torso 😄

    Hey I had an idea last night that I wanted to ask you all about.

    How about we make the Frantic Brute identical in stats to the Spartan Carnage except with 2 shots (like it currently is) rather than 3?  Basically make the Frantic Brute a Spartan Carnage "Lite"?

    Would that fix the issue?

    (Then the frantic lightning and frantic flame could be made more or less equivalent to what a heat-based or energy-based Spartan would be like, etc.)

    Do you think that would work with meta and such?

    With all due respect, there seems to be a bit of a difference between Frantic Brute and Unrepaired Laser Cannon in terms of average damage.  I calculate this using ((min damage + max damage) / 2 ) - backfire. 

    Wouldn't you need to make backfire zero to put Unrepaired Laser Cannon on equal footing in terms of damage?  Granted, unlike Frantic, it's got unlimited uses....

    Just asking because I'm new.

    I'm completely f2p, too.

    What can I do? Well, that depends on what needed to be done.

    That might be an important consideration: if we nerf Frantic Brute too much, do we harm the F2P people who may never get a Spartan?  I know F2P can save up tokens to get PPs but still....
